Really Bad Night (not ch)
Jul 24th, 2008 at 11:33pm

My dog Skipper died tonight.  Cry

He was 14 years old and still acted like a puppy.  People did not believe me when I told them how old he was because of the way he ran around with all the other dogs.  Unfortuately, his eyesight and hearing was not as good and he still liked to chase cars down the driveway.  He got too close and was ran over.  It was horrible......hysterical teenage girls, a futile drive to the animal hospital.....it was too late, there was nothing that could be done.  We brought him back home and buried him next to the barn. Cry Cry Cry

I'm so sorry Beth.  That's a horrible experience to live through.  I lost a dog that way when I was little.  Hurts like hell.

Oh Beth, I am so sorry for your loss, having a pet for that length of time allows you to become so attached, they are a normal part of everday life, and when they pass there is an very big EMPTY space in not only your heart, but your house and life.
        We all know that possiblity exists, but never want to face it until we have to.  I'm sending the very best Vibes I can to you Dear.  Only time can close this wound, only time.   John

So sorry Beth. It can be hard to convey to people who have never had pets just how devastating losing one can be.

Thank you everyone for your kind words.  Our pets do become part of the family.  The girls cannot remember Skipper not being part of their lives.  He was a good dog and lived a good life.

My Darling Beth;

Losing a pet to death is know small matter. They will always be in your heart. Your pet is a family member, companion, and the love of your life. Just thinking about the pet you lost can bring you to tears.

My Princess Marie, was also 14 when she died..

There's a great sight that you can go to called: "Rainbow Bridge."

I'll keep you and family in my thoughts and Prayers...

Peace & Blessings

Beth:

As everyone has said here, I am so sorry for your loss.  I believe your dog is in heaven running around, playing and happy.  Hold on to that.  I have two cats and a dog (all my babies) and cannot imagine what you are going through right now but trust that your dog is in a happy place and hiding bones in a cloud!
