Day trip to Franconia Notch NH
Jul 26th, 2008 at 11:29am

Andrea and I took the four youngest on a day trip to the White Mountains. We drove through Franconia Notch up the Kancamagus Highway and found the "Otter Rocks" rest area where we stopped to dip our feet in the fridged waters that roll past Hancock Beach.

From there we went on to take in the Flume Gorge. This is a 2 mile walk through a gorge carved through 80' granite walls. With all the recent rain (8" in the last week) there was more water cascading down through the Flume than any time I've ever seen. It was a spectacular day

Here is a link to the web album.  Enjoy!  We did!

Great trip for the family!!  Lovely scenery and looks like you had a great day.

Reminds me a little bit of Gooseberry Falls (MN) on the north side of Lake Superior.  The Spring melt runs off from Canada down a long slow slope and then hits Gooseberry Falls.  Wheeeee!
