That happened here a year or two ago, to a teacher of using these giant kites for sufing and blowkarting.

He was badly smashed up against the sea wall, dragged and smashed some more, broke just about every bone he had, but lived to tell the tale and to pass on those genes.  I donot know how it just does not happen more often

Why does every idiot under the age of 25 think they are bullet-proof?

That kind of experience only comes with age. There are exceptions, but only a few.

I also have a theory - there's a reason that days seem to go on forever when you're a kid, and fly by in the blink of an eye when you're old. Stick with me on this.

Subconsciously, we're aware that we're most likely going to die somewhere between 70 and 90 years old. When we're kids, each day represents only a tiny fraction of all the time we have left. So life goes on and on and on, seemingly forever. But as we near the end of our lives, each day represents a larger percentage of the time we have left. If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, can you imagine how quickly today would go by?

And this is REALLY why kids think they're bullet-proof. They have a very limited view of the bigger picture.
