For the next week
Aug 28th, 2008 at 4:26am

I have to stop my dog, Ruby, from walking, running and jumping around (she's a greyhoundx).

We were at the beach and as she was running in the waves, she fell into a rock pool. She's torn ligaments in her foot. Thank god she hadn't broken anything and that my other dog wasn't following close behind or it could really have been bad.

This is her just after we'd brought her home from the vet. She had been kept sedated for the day.

Quality's not great as it was taken on my phone.

Going to be tough to keep her quiet--running's what greyhounds do.  Sounds like a lot of tranks are in her immediate future.

Poor pup.

Best,

George

Poor Ruby.  I feel so sorry for her.....her poor paw must be hurting so badly.  Did the vet give you meds for her pain?

I had to giggle a little bit when I looked at her eyes......looks like she has had one too many doggie downers. Grin

Hope she has a speedy recovery, doesn't try to chew off her bandages and is on the mend ASAP.

Give her a smooch for me....she's a beauty!!!

Thanks folks.

We didn't get anything to take home for her, and once the drugs wore off, she was back to her boisterous self! She's really going berserk when we have to walk our other greyhound Chester - she's being left at home and doesn't understand why.  Sad

The bandage hasn't really lasted. She nibbled a hole in it and proceeded to pull the cotton wool swabbing out like a magician pulling a scarf out of his hand!! I had to duct tape it closed to stop her getting it all out!

Another visit to the vet tomorrow to check if the swelling has gone down. Fingers crossed.
