Fed up with being serious - dream cheap holidays

It's raining here and my head hurts.

Please help me- I want to dream of holidays if I ever actually go to sleep.

Where is the perfect, dream but CHEAP holiday destination. Anyone can have a dream holiday if they are rich.

So far my vote is Egypt: Wonderful ancient sites, beaches, sunshine, great food, friendly people- very cheap!

oh and lots of very dead people wrapped in bandages who have been dug up!

P.S. I would have said Vegas but although it's cheap and we really loved it, it's a bit tiring and the culture aspect is a little bit lacking! (sorry!)

aIRFARE ACROSS THE POND TO SEATTLE WA.......a lil puddle jumper down to Oregon........about $400pp
a week or soo....with friends in Portland........PRICELESS!

or....watch cheap fares for a cruise deal to the Bahamas, mama! GREAT value!

nah, don't hate u wendy......only one i hate right now is my damn boss who shit-canned me last week!!!.....just kinda jealous!!! i'm thinking bout leaving my life, as it is, flying to an island, working @ a beach bar, or maybe just selling those necklaces on the beach................i could try to live with just the bare necessities.................i just dont have the nerve to do...........................

In fact, I've booked a trip across Vietnam and Cambodia for my honeymoon!! (Code is VSK for those who want to have a nose).

For cheap holiday destinations, what about Wales? Lovely beaches, great people, lots of castles and not too far from you either!

Or there's always Ireland & Scotland. Short flight to a little cottage near a local pub with a roaring fire... Perfect!

I always forget about the places close to home.

Deb, I rented the movie so many times that the kids baught it for me last Yule.

Wendy, Yes I'm jealous...the rolling hills and vineyards ad local markets,...I could see it all now...

GO TO ITALY..sounds like you'd have a place to stay already, so the holiday would be cost effective. Oh..and pack me (in spirit) into your suitcase and take me with you? Wink

Almost 4 years ago I took a cruise ship from Puerto Rico, spent 3 days in the carribbean and then went across the pond to Madeira (The most beautiful place I have seen). Then the ship went to Lisboa Portugal, Le Havre, France and then stopped in England, where I spent a nite in London.

For those of us that can't spend more than a few days at the sunny beaches, this was the perfect trip.

well i went to the" bay" 2day for a holiday.....................that's the Great South Bay, and it's about 5 minutes to the beach from my house....(in my SMART car that is!)...............walked to an outdoor restaurant and had some lunch and some wine...........i just may be goin to the Bay every day now, till it gets cold.......................bout as close to a Holiday i am going to get to at the moment.......................but it worked for me.................................

So MANY old friends here, and so many lovely offers I have had via pm etc!

I feel quite weepy.

Sadly it is a dream to make me happy at the moment as kid goes back to school this week so can't go anywhere until next school holidays unless I just bugger off and leave husband to cope (can't do that) and we really are borassic (hope that word makes sense in American, probably not but it means skint, penniless, no dosh)

Have never been to Scandinavia and their men are rather lovely......

I want to live with Deb!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wendy.................daughter sam (19) back @ college.......................room fumigated......... son keith (23) new job which involves traveling..GE CAPITAL...HEY MOM!!! he says 2 nite, c u nxt weekend!!!............................and a new "flava of the month = GF)..............................me a newly separated 51 yr old who just was SHIT CANNED from her job(i believe that was pollypockets term! tho i may be wrong)last week after 3 yrs.............in a BIG HOUSE ALL BY HERSELF.....and a CHer to boot.......................oh YEAH!!! i can collect unemployment !!! not near what i was making.....................BUT enuf with the PITY PARTY 4 me.................someone else has it worse.i just heard a cousin of mines wife who is 41, diag @ 36 with breast cancer is in her final stages.............................so i guess its CARPE DIEM............................and hey, ANYONE CAN VISIT ME B4 I SELL THIS HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and u can visit me afta i sell, tho will be smaller, we'll have a grand old time!!!!

Our constant rain is only wet and at least it isn't a hurricane
My head will go away soon and at least it isn't terminal

tks wendy!! but "whinge" all u want (a new term i learned on here from helen!!) u r entitled!!!! a "positive" side is that since i am 7 mths into my cycle, being helD "at bay' by elavil i can "imbibe" and am drinking the wine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come and visit me anytime...............when i c the word "wendy" i kinda think of the cartoon with CASPER the friendly ghost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that is a GOOD THING!!!!!!!!!!!!1
