Restless Leg Syndrome
Aug 31st, 2008 at 6:33am

hey all. I am very sorry if this subject has been discussed in the past, but, it seems to me i remember hearing some time ago about cluster heads also having a high rate of RLS.  Personally,,, this is something I have dealt with since childhood, and the last year,, WOW,, its an EVERYNIGHT thing.(major pain in the a$$) I was just curious if others here suffer with it also.     Tuck

Count me in too.

I get it mostly at night when I finally get the chance to sit on the couch.   Roll Eyes

Once I'm in bed though it only becomes a problem if I get woken up by beast or child or bladder  Undecided

Fortunately it's not enough to wake my in and of itself.

I have it too. Requip before bed eliminates the problem for me.

From what I recall, it can be closely associated with sleep apnea. When I had my sleep study done in 2000, I know they attached sensors to my legs (as well as about 40 bazillion other places) to monitor for RLS.

I happen to know that Jonny does NOT have a problem with this   ...

OOOPPPSSS!!  I promised not to mention anything about that ... nevermind ....

Now to the topic of RLS:

As far as RLS, I also have it, but usually, only at night, when I sleep.  I thrash around so bad, I even work the fitted sheet off the mattress.  It has never affected my sleep, that I know of.

I also have sleep apnea, and I am suppose to use the CPAP machine every night.  I used it for about six months, and then just got lazy, filling the water tank every night.

I never noticed any difference in my sleep quality, but when I have had to share a motel room with someone, they have told me that when I had the CPAP on I did not snore, as I usually rattle the timbers with my snoring.

Your doctor has to request a sleep study.  It usually invoves spending the night at the hospital or sleep center, and then if you do have it, a second stay, at a later date, using a CPAP machine, to see how you respond to the machine.

Or at least that is how it worked for me ...

So i should go to my doctors and speak to him about it i hear sleep apnea can be life threatning due to heart problems it can cause ??

I was just talking to my wife about it and she says i snore bad but every now and then i go quiet for a few seconds then breath deeply and start snoring again.

The sheet is stripped from my bed every morning i move alot lol sometimes the wife gets up and sleeps with the kids i have always put this all down to the RLS i think i need a chat with the doc
