Is the beast turning FRIENDLY?
Sep 1st, 2008 at 8:39am

For the past month or so, the beast has been doing something that could be considered to be rather considerate, and even friendly!

As we all know, the night time hits are usually the worst, because it gets so advanced, before we wake up.  MUCH harder to kick to the curb, at those higher KIP ratings!

Normally, I sleep (when I do sleep) like a log, and you could knock the building down around me, without waking me up.  This is one of the reasons that my night time hits are so bad, I think.  Lately I have been waking up, for no apparent reason, WITHOUT a headache ... But then, within a few minutes, I start to feel the start of a hit!

So, it seems, that most of the time, I wake up JUST BEFORE the hit starts!  This is SO strange!  In 29 years of fighting the beast, this has never happened before!  This has made it SO much easier to fight the night time hits!

Has anyone else been so "blessed" ??

Chuck

Nope - I usually wake up with about a Kip 4 or so (and that's being polite I think - better than "full blown").

Have you tried getting UP and having a nice cup of coffee when you DO wake up!!!  Maybe the old demon just wants a cup of java....welllll, it's worth a try you old pervert!!!! (or maybe you could just try on your pink thong for him Kiss Kiss Kiss) (
and I didn't say anything about being nice to you for a year!)

Chuck, when I was going through that monster high cycle when I was in Oregon a couple years ago, I'd sleep for a short while, and wake up. Then, I'd get hit within 2 minutes of waking up. It was like that until I got the steroids... and very convenient, if that is the word to use. I'd wake up, and have time to get out of bed... and the O2 was right there... Like you said, didn't wake up and already be in the hit too far to really kill it fast.

Happened to me for the last 1/2 of my last cycle.   I attribute it to the reason I was able to knock them out in as little as 8 min. on the O2 with the clustermasx. Smiley

Yeah, that's me, unfortunately.  Better than ninety percent of the hits I get are nighttime hits, kip 4 by the time they wake me up.  Then I usually dither around in denial for a few minutes.  That doesn't help things either.

Best,

I'm not sure if this is related but...

Verapamil is keeping 90% of my hits away.  100% of my night time hits.  PF time is great!  Cool

What's weird is that I still wake up at regular times each night.  It's like an alarm clock that says, "time to get up and pace a bit".  No pain at all, just some switch that turns on and I'm awake.  Happens at 1:30 every night and most nights again at 3:30.

I'm not complaining.  I'm just saying... Undecided

Newbie here, but yes for about the last year this has been the way my nights are.  I'm on Topamax, (which believe it or not works for me and I can still remember my name and find my truck).  Anyway, the shadow or curl as I used to call it visits every day, but it's weak kip 1-2, 2-4 times a day.  Then usually wakes me up at about 4:30 - 5:00 am. almost every morning at a kip 2-3.  If I get up it doesn't get any worse than this and I usually drink a cup of coffee and surf the internet for about 45 min. and can go back to sleep. (have a high tolerance to caffene now I guess).  I've gotten pretty used to this and compared to my first year and what others here go through it seems pretty minimal to me.  I rarely ever get any big hits anymore and had been wondering if anyone else had these smaller wake up episodes with the beast.

I thought of that, Brian, but then I realized the only thing regular about my hits (day or night) is their total IRREGULARITY!
(Maybe the beast needs to eat more prunes?)
 LOL

I sleep 45 to 90 minutes at a time, and then the beast visits.  Regardless of the time I go to bed.  That is also whether I sleep ONE 45 to 90 minute period, of TEN of them.  Same deal ...

LIke Brian, I usually woke up early in the hit. I can't remember waking up just before.

It's obvious that you're lying about your age. You're older than clusters Chuck, and are going back in time every night until you wake up. Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Chuckster - Anyone ever tell you about the gift horse?

Now that you ruined it for yourself I will tell you that this always happened to me during cycles, just very infrequently. Thou the longer I live this cursed life the better my body seems to be at sensing the on coming hit and the % of times I wake up right before the hit increases every cycle.

And there are the times when while I am sound a sleep, I can feel the headache coming on and building and I say to myself "I better wakeup, I am getting hit". and sometimes I wake myself up and sometimes I continue to sleep until HE wakes me up. Then I am really pissed off cuz I had a chance to cut him off at the pass and now I am really getting hit hard instead.

I've had a few times where I woke up before a hit. I assume that after having so many...somewhere in my subconsious something triggers me to wake up. It's a weird feelin' but I still hit the 02 and trex out of fear.
