Car Tires - Informative Video

A friend sent this video to me today and it sure gives me cause for concern.  It's longish but if it helps even one person, then it's worth watching.

Very good info Carol!

Also check the load and speed rating. Europeans remove the tires from American cars because they don’t have a high enough speed rating for the autobahn!

tuesday night i had a drive tire blow out on my truck. the right rear inner tire picked up a nail and put the load onto the outside tire. that tire blew out 50 miles north of tn. in ky. i bought a recap tire there and by the time i got to atlanta chunk of tread were missing. so i only got maybe 200 mile out of that tire. and that was a bridgestone casing with a goodyear brand cap. i had another recap tire that i picked up in barstow ca. that one got me back to missouri were it came apart, tore out my lights, wires, and mudflap. i didn't even know it until anther driver told me on the cb. when the drive tire came apart a big chunk of the tread came up and hit the back of the sleeper. we call those long strips of tread, alligator skins.
