Laser Pain Treatment?
Sep 6th, 2008 at 2:33pm

So, my Mom is at this seminar for laser pain treatments. The guy putting it on is a retired pharmacist that supposedly had CH and says it cured him (a joke to me) and she will be tearing out my ear when she gets home I’m sure.

I must some how once more find the reserve to not berate her for looking out for me in an unwanted manor. She means well but really bugs me with the snake oil doctors and methods. She is clueless of what it’s like for me to get hit everyday of my life and thinks the advice she is giving me is wanted even though I have told her to lay off.

I will once again be tolerant of the laser thing. I have read articles about it for horses but the interpretation of the results is of human origin so I take it with a tiny grain of salt.

Lord give me strength!

My wife, God bless her, is willing to spend money on anything that might help.

She bought one of these laser units.  It was expensive.  I mean, it was expeeeeensive.  Over $5000.

It is BS.  Total nonsense.  Waste of money.

I'll sell it if anybody else thinks it might work for them

It CURES anything you could imagine.  I do emphasize the word 'imagine'.

My poor wife, she is smart, she really is.  But, she is also willing to gamble on wacky 'cures' just in case they work.  I'm not so willing.

If you want to buy it, PM me.  Cheap.  It's the real deal, cost as much as a used car.  Oh, and it's useless.

Even after we reach adulthood our Mothers are still Mom and still want what they perceive as best for us.  Wether or not that is what we perceive as best.

At least you know she loves you  Wink  And that is a very cool thing  Cool

Having just lost three of our parents, my Dad in 2004, Andrea's Dad in 2005 and then her Mom in 2008, I'm finding a great deal of comfort in the meandering, often repeatitive conversations I can still have with my Mom.  She regularly suggests the lates in OTC meds and treatments for my CH.

I hope you find the patience to suffer her efforts to help.  In encourage you to enjoy her company while she's still here.

Where there is life, there is hope.
Where there is Oxygen, you must use proper caution.
So be safe, don't smoke while using O2. Kill the pain and not yourself.

All I can say is that I feel your pain.  My dear mother has 2 gay children, and 2 with chronic cluster headaches.  I'm the only one who sired grandchildren.  She means the world to me, but the advice, though well meaning, is very trying, to say the least.

Wishing you the best,

Ray
