Hello Clusterville:

I missed you guys. The remnants of Hurricane Ike combined with a strong system up near the great lakes to blow sustained winds of 55 miles per hour and gusts up to 75 miles per hour here.

Here is Columbus, OH. We faired pretty well, but power was out from Sunday about 3 PM until about 6 PM today. We lost some shingles and one piece of siding off the house and garage. Others had more damage, particularly from trees. We have a City Light pole at a 45 degree angle (leaning toward our yard). As it is not "down" the city has other priorities. What is funny, to us, is that the removed the "ONE WAY" signs from the pole and put it on a metal pole (so the drivers wouldn't want to launch into the sky, I guess).

That's all the news that is fit to print, other than the grill sure has been getting a workout and the local teenagers are camping out in our back yard, since school's been closed for the past 3 days.

Reading your post was like, I been there done that, a couple of cyclone seasons ago “2004 TC Monty” we lost the power for 5 days, it was a bit like camping out without going anywhere. Thank god for portable generators, gotta keep the beer cold somehow. Cheers Barry
