This is not a political thread. I just wanted to say "Hi" and ""What's going on in your world?" Roll Eyes

Any mention of politics on this thread will result in me beating you to death with a dead carp! Wink

Well, I have a new patient starting tomorrow.  A sweet 86 yr. old gentleman, sharp as a tack.  Three days per week, 6 hours per day.

My grandson returns from Boston after one year out on his own (he's 19).  He loves it up there but is really homesick for family.  He and his sister have taken an appartment on the east coast of Florida.  That'll be interesting.  May make the Guiness Book with the messiest appartment in  history.  She's going to Florida American University and works at Publics (grocery chain) full time.  She's Judy's daughter (and he's her son).  Love those kids to death.  Very family oriented.

My son John (the one with ch) took a fall and has a herniated disc.....he's a semi driver.  That sucks.  He'll be out of work for a while.

Updates as they happen...........

Cool

Helping the girls get ready for homecoming this weekend.......tonight was devoted to helping my diva daughter, Jackie, find earings.  Didn't have any luck, so we went to Michaels and Katie is making them for her.  One done so far and it looks really good.

I was adopted by a kitten who wandered into the shop last week.  Found out he was not a kitten, but a very sick 2 year old cat (only 4 lbs).  I have been nursing him back to health with antibiotics and lots of love.  I will post a pic when I can get him off of me long enough to take one.

I tried to make catfish... as good as the the place in Kentucky that Jimi and Ruthie took us to.   It was pretty good, but no cigar.

One solitary pink  rose bloomed on my last rose bush today.

Tomorrow I'm heading to a wine tasting up near where I live.  We're meeting my brother and his wife and having lunch, going to this antique town that is  lost in the 1870's

Monday morning I'll call my broker to see how much money I lost in the stock market  while I was out living it up.

.   Ooops...my bad Jimmers.  lol  It'll never happen again I promise.

we...o.k. I... will want all the juicy details Cathi.  Pics are optional.

The beach in Oregon in Oct. can be chilly.   Bring those down jackets.

If I can I will try to post pics of Lewiston where I am going.   I, like Jackie got a new camea and dying to try out stuff.

Followup on stuff from the College Fair that Ellen attended on Tuesday.  She's getting pretty excited at the prospect of going to college.   Me...yes, but in another way...not so much.  You want them to grow up and into their lives as adults, but there's a bit of regret as well.

My niece, Jordan, who's in her first year of aeronautics at Westminster College is scheduled for her first solo flight next week.  I know her parents will be a bit...ambivalent...about that.  Thank heaven Ellen hasn't decided to grow wings.   Smiley

Best,

George

I'm mostly just waiting for my cousin to get a job so that I get to go spend time babysitting for her.

And waiting for FEMA to check out our house, we think we're gonna need a whole new roof. XP House is still liveable, so, we're very blessed. Cheesy

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

After a full day of fix this and repair that, I'm working on the OUCH newsletter and winding down before crashing for the night.

I wish for all you, my brothers and sisters, a night filled with sweet dreams and restful sleep.

I have found my happy place again by:

A: I don't read the newspaper in the morning.
B: I don't watch the news on TV anymore.
C:I don't open ANY E-mail that looks at ALL political
D: I don't engage ANYONE in political debate.

Since breaking myself from those bonds, I'm back in my happy place! Wink Wink...............and I'll bet not a single person on this board has noticed I stopped doing any of it!!!!

Hi Jimmers.........
Nothing going on here... just playing a lot on pogo.com.
Do any of you play there?   I've been playing a lot on there lately.  Dont feel like doing anything else.   I am not a Club Pogo member.. yeah me!

I've been doing my best to avoid the news... I'm depressed enough.  But that also means avoiding a lot of threads here... no politics.. no economy.... cant handle it.   So - I just play on pogo.com.  it's an awesome distraction!

Hey - I made chili for dinner and it was frikkin YUMMY!

that is all

This is our Thanksgiving long weekend and both Angie and I have it off. Three days off and the weather is suppose to be the best we had all summer, so a bunch of deck time listening to the top 500 song countdown and maybe a little biking.

Oh yea, turkey dinner and a Nascar race Saturday night with a couple of our friends. Wink

I'll probably cut the grass for the last time tomorrow. It will be easier to rake up all of the damn leaves that are soon to fall.

Do some laundry, sit down,
Do some cooking, sit down.
Clean the house, sit down.
Oh and I'll have to answer the bell when Barb rings it cause she's playing it to the hilt! Cheesy

And maybe hit a farmers market or two. I have a taste for apple cider. I know, I'm weird. Wink

Yup that about sums it up - I've got 2 teens and an 8 year old, trying to juggle scouts, band and the band boosters volunteering that I signed us up for - the competition is on the 18th so hopefully either someone will give me a ride or I'll have another car by then - because there's another scout campout - supposed to go that too -

Other than the chaos of daily life in a home with 5 ADD people, my head has been trying hard to find out just how much force it takes to crack it like a watermelon - passed out a couple times and went into convulsions causing a couple serious concussions, and then of course I decided to see if a vehicle and mountain could do it - then got up in the night to go potty (hehe) and tripped over the dog and took a header into Clark's dresser (which incidentally did more damage on the surface than the car accident!).

So how's things in your life Jimmers?

Jimmers, this is not about politics, but about investments...

Quote:
REALITY CHECK, INVESTMENT ALTERNATIVE: If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Airlines stock one year ago, you would have $49 today. If you had purchased $1000 of AIG stock one year ago, you would have $33 today. If you had purchased $1000 of Lehman Brothers stock one year ago, you will have $0 today. However, if you had purchased $1000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling, you would have received $214 today at redemptions. Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle. It is called the 401-KEG Plan.
