It's $2.85 here. It will go back up. Thanksgiving and Christmas is about here, people travel, then the gas will raise.  It goes up every Holiday and in summer. I am going to enjoy it wile I can.

WTH??  Why couldn't this have happened closer to me??

Quote:
Dozens get gas in Wis. for 35 cents after mistake Wed Oct 15, 7:25 AM ET

Sure, gas prices have come down lately. But to 34.9 cents a gallon? That's what Kelly Joosten and dozens of other motorists paid at a Citgo station Monday. The sign advertised $3.43 for a gallon of premium fuel, but the pump cost read $0.349 a gallon.

"That was amazing," said Joosten, who normally spends about $100 to fill up her 1998 Ford Expedition.

Joosten proudly showed off her receipt for 25.36 gallons at $8.85. She said she saw other motorists filling gas cans, too, at the discounted price.

Station owner JP Raval says the attendant on duty couldn't figure out why the station was suddenly so busy.

Raval estimated 30 to 40 customers fueled up at the incorrect price — between 200 and 300 gallons worth — for about 90 minutes.

"People kept coming, so fast," Raval said. "Everything was crowded; it was like a fairground."

Yesterday I paid $1.849/gallon for gas ($2.099 with a discount).

it was awesome not to have to take a bank loan to get 15 gallons.

$2.89 here, as of today.

When I say "$2.89", I don't mean just some places, with a little slop around the edges--some at $3.04, say, and others at $2.99, and so forth, I mean EVERYBODY is selling gas at $2.89.

It's always like that around here.  Doesn't matter what brand it is, doesn't matter what service station or C store is selling it, everybody has the same price--always.

It's a remarkable phenomenon, and always provides grist for contemplation.   Roll Eyes

Best,

George

Being a recent transplant from California to Texas, I was happy to fill my pickup yesterday for $2.05/gallon at an HEB store in Taylor Texas.

Seems funny to say that because gas was around 25-35 cents per when I started driving.  It got below 20 cents during "gas wars"

Bob, cost of living was a big part of choosing this location. The lack of State Income Tax makes a $442./mo net difference in my paycheck here. I can't believe the price differences on just about everything we buy.

I may be out to see you soon. SunEd wants to change out the remote monitoring rig in your solar plant to a new one - I've been elected.

Damn punk ass, wet behind the ears, whippersnapper!!!  LOL

Back when I got my license, you could get gas for $.27!

Hell, I find it laughable (have to laugh, as it hurts so much) that in 1973, I sold my 1969 Thunderbird (back when they were BIG cars, with HUGE engines, and ENORMOUS gas tanks) because it cost too much to fill up the tank.  It cost me a whole $9.00!!!

I went from the T-bird, to an MG Midget!  Talk about going from one end of the scale to another!

Chuck

It was $2.49 on Sunday, I haven't been by the gas station yet this week.

I remember when it went to over $1.00/gal. The government sent out a questionnaire to a select few. A friend of mine got one. One of the questions was... If gas prices were over $1.00 per gallon, would you buy it?

Do I have a choice? Figures. I'm thinking this was in 80 or so, and all hell was breaking loose because gas was over $1.00/ gal. I think it was about $1.25, and gas stations were running out of gas.

One thing I've noticed is grocery prices are slightly lower, due to the lower fuel surcharge on product. Milk dropped to $2.69, last week it was $3.39 for a gallon.

Yep Charlie, were still getting REAMED in NY!  Still almost $3 here.   It sucks too when #2 fuel oil sells for more than what you can get Diesel at the pump.  Heating oil is supposed to be tax free.
