Difficult Picture
Oct 14th, 2008 at 10:03pm

At least for me, it is very difficult to get a decent picture of the moon without a telescope. I'm still working on it!

For you photo people, it was shot handheld at 300mm, f7.1, 1/350, ISO 100

Marc,

There are no flies on that pic!  I think that will make a great wallpaper if you don't mind.  it sure beats what I can do with my little brownie!  (Does that date me?)

OMG Marc, was that taken last night?  When I looked outside this morning, the moon was so close!

Excellent shot! Smiley

Marc,

You inspire me.  You discourage me.  At the same time.

I wish I could operate a camera with your skill.

awesome shot and hand held too.
I've tried several times to get a decent shot of the moon with results not even close to what you got.

Thank you all for the many supportive words! I shoot a lot of stuff just for the challenge, that no one else ever sees.

This is one of my better attempts to date, but my goals are far loftier than my current abilities. Eventually I'll get one that I am happy with and I suspect that it will be on film - but digital is cheaper to practice with. Time to break out the tripod...........

Hat's off to you Marc.  I've tried to get several shots of the moon and haven't had much luck.
