I have been talking daily with Svenn since a week ago today, I have not spoken to him yet today. I do not share conversations so I can't tell you anything you may need to hear right now other than Svenn has friends who are with him on a daily basis both in Norway and on the net.
I personally KNOW what Svenn is grappling with, and have helped him as much as a friend can, and I know he has appreciated it a great deal. I personally think his post is intended to say he is going to be staying away from here for awhile as he has 'bigger fish to fry' right now, don't forget, Svenn was hospitalized with his heart while Pete and Chuck were in Norway for the symposium, he has some really serious health issues to deal with on TOP of his CH.
Clustercompagniet has accomplished some amazing things, and my personal interpretation of his I have a dream thread is that it can be done here too, the same things he has done in Norway, but because of geography we are limited, and therefore it might benefit us all if we were to work aggressively with ACHE, AHS, NHF, WHA etc. - not migraine groups, general headache education groups. Having personally dealt with the heads of some of these groups (while chairing the Advocacy committee) they show a focus on migraines because migraineurs push for it, there was an epidemiology study to show hard facts and figures about the cost of migraines on society, and I know for a fact that OUCH was told numbers drive the game, so if we didn't have the population, we had to get other numbers to drive the education and headache societies (including the American Neurological Association - Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!! ) to expend their resources on CH research and support of OUCH. Their purpose is to help people who suffer from headache disorders of every kind, migraines just happen to have the epidemiology study done by Richard Lipton that drives them to the forefront. There's no reason OUCH can't maintain it's CH goals and missions while driving on the same highway with the headache education associations. That is my interpretation of his post, as well as having discussed it with him personally.
So I think he just can't understand how his post caused any division, as he intended it to be uniting and to get the masses at ch.com to participate en masse at OUCH as well, and he needs a break from here because his personal health is in jeopardy and he needs to focus on that first (he can't help any of us if he dies from a heart attack...)
JMO And my statements are just that, my opinion of what this post from Svenn means as well as what his I have a dream post means. Don't blast him for anything I've said, send it straight to my PM.
