I hope to hear that the doctors responsible for his medical care decide to place him in-patient until this thing is broken--many times, home is not the right place to be when going through detoxification.  Without knowing much more than what you've said, Chuck, it sounds to me as if this is one of those times.

Im with the G-man on this one, seeing that I kicked many drugs at the same time......home was just not the place it was going to happen!

Svenn, if I my punk ass can do it, you can. You just need alittle help and all our vibes......you know how strong our prayers and vibes are, brother!

Now kick this shit like you have been kicking the beast for so many years!!!!  Smiley

We love you, Svenn!

My thoughts and prayers are with Svenn, I've gone through morphine withdrawls before, myself. I was dependant/tolerant, not addicted, so I know it's probably a hell of a lot harder for him...

We're all behind you, Svenn, you'll come through this, you're stronger than the addiction AND the beast!

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

Dear Svenn:

I'm sorry to hear of the depth of the problem.  Sometimes being at the bottom gives you only one way to go -- UP!  I don't know how you feel about God, but now is a time to be a believer.  I am praying my heart out and I will get others to do so for you.  You are loved here and we want the best for you!

Recover quickly,

Ray   Kiss

Dear Svenn:

Thank you for all you have done for us............clusterheads.  You have given more of yourself than most.  We appreciate you and look up to you with respect.

The problem you are having now is workable.  It is not uncommon.  It is not to be ashamed of.  I am saying these variable things because I do not know where you are mentally at this time, but I do know that your situation is not isolated to just you.

I have a loved one who is addicted.  I agree that the home setting is not the place for recovery. You must make a complete break from all ties that have been a part of your behavior.

When we say that you are a strong person, I know that you doubt it.  I know that you feel defeated.  I know that you can't do this alone.

Please let us, the people who truely love and respect you, help, encourage and lend you support, help you.

We pray that dear Bente has the strength to stand up to you and not enable you (hardest thing in the world to do when a loved one is in withdrawal) and will hold you up while you battle this enemy.

Svenn, you know better than anyone else that you are exceptionally strong.  You may not feel so now, but you must keep on fighting  You will overcome this obstacle.  We all know it.  Now it is up to you to believe it.

Choose your help wisely and when you do, stick with the program 100%.

Whether you believe it now or not, you will succeed..........it is what you are made of.

What can we do for you, who has done so much for us?

Multitude of prayers coming your way.

I know in my heart that you will be successful.  Just admitting it is the biggest step.

Love and fervent prayers to you my friend,
Donna H.

Svenn,

my thoughts and prayers are with you and Bente as well. Smiley

I wish you strength as you take this mountain - and I know you can do it. I wish also wisdom for the doctors to plan the best plan to help you out safely. You have the guts and determination to win this fight, too. If there's more than praying that I can do... let me know. In the meantime, I'll praying for you all.

All the best with this battle also and prayers,
Sanna

I guess that I'm stupid because it didn't occur to me that Svenn's post had anything to do with his *I have a dream* post (From what I've read, both about him and stuff he's posted, I would think that he's a much bigger man than to let something like that affect him so badly).

You can do this, but I'm with the rest of them, you can't do this at home.  You need to be in a controlled setting, where people are there 24/7 to help you get through this ordeal.

Sending good thoughts to you AND Bente.

Thanks for this post Chuck and Svenn,   Svenn it sounds like you have a great support system there take all the help you can from your doctors friends and family,  if you would like to vent to a stranger pm your phone number to me and I'll call.  I stopped taking morphine in Feb. so I know the pains involved,  if Jonny and I can do it then you should have no problem.

Prayers and vibe from across the pond,    Phil

Thank you for all your wishes, prayers, and good vibes.

I know it means a lot to Svenn and those of us working with him.

This site is just AWESOME!!!  There is no way Deej could have known how important his little site was going to become.  The love and help, that is here, is just AWESOME!  I have been involved in the "behind the scenes" for several different problems, over the years, that one of our family have had.  It blows me away at how much people are so willing to jump in and assist one of our own.

GAWD, you people are amazing!  (Even BarbaraD and Cathi and Linda and Mel and Liz and Jackie and Cat and even Lady Luv)

Several of us are in almost constant contact with our dear friend, and I know it means a lot to him.

Please keep your prayers, vibes, good ju-ju, or whatever you send, heading to our esteemed viking.

Do you have any updates....

Barb, I ALMOST didn't give an update, jus cuz YOU asked for it ... but there are other people on this site that ARE nice, decent people, so I guess for THEM I will give an update ...

I have been chatting/talking with Svenn several times a day, just to keep in touch, be a support, and keep him out of the slump that he was in.

Today,  I was so glad to hear him, joke and tell me to "STFU" as he usually does, he sounded very much like the Svenn that we all know and love.  His spirits were much higher today, than they have been lately.

BUT, he still has a long way to go.  He should be waking up shortly, and I will see how he is, then.  Just because he was in such good spirits does not mean he is out of the woods.  He still has a tough road to go.  He has started on the oxicontin today, and that should help to break the morphine addiction, and then they can work on the oxycontin tie.  It is sort of like stepping down from one to the other.

I guess they are taking this approach, because they are not sure his heart can take the strain of going cold turkey.  I am not sure, but that is my logic, because I am not real pleased with switching from one addiction to another, but then again, I am not a doctor, especially HIS doctor.

I am sure he appreciates your prayers vibes and good ju-ju that all y'all are sending his way.  Please keep it up!

Youse guyz 'n galz is WONDERFUL!!!

Chuck

Thanks for the update, Chuck.

This is not an easy process, and it's often accomplished stepwise.  I'm not surprised to hear that his doctors have taken this tack.

When people succeed (and many do) I can only say that they have my entire admiration and respect.  I know how difficult it can be.

Svenn, of course, already has mine--his strength in the facing up to this only confirms it.

Be well-but above all, be patient, my friend.

All the best,

George

Well, look at it this way... It should be easier for them to break his addiction/dependance on something like Oxycontin than break it of Morphine.

It may have taken a lot longer to get him off of the Morphine injections than it would have if they switched to Oxycontin pills.

We're all still thinking of you Svenn, and sending good vibes~
