I'm trying to avoid politics!

This guy is good. I probably have 100 shots him because he only goes out when the swell is 8'-10'. Everyone else has gone to modern kite boards, but he just loves his "old school" rig.

It's off a bit because of the strong backlighting shooting directly into the sun, but the water does go green when it get churned up by the large swells.

Marc as always these are stunning, the colour is wonderful, our seas are everything from tropical blue to steel grey with all the greens and blues inbetween, depending apon the weather the sea is a constant changinhg thing.

Those waves look like central coast to me.  Morro Bay, or south of the sand spit.  Just guessing.

Yup, Central Coast pictures. Shawn, you missed by only about 1.5 miles - it was north of the rock. Damn, you're good!

Shawn,

Here is one from the South end of the sand spit - North end of Montana De Oro. Look at the wave in the background - they were really pumping that day! USCG called it 35'-40' in the logs.

This one has a small wave, but this image is on a billboard on Highway 1, just South of Morro Bay - at least it was still there in June.

Marc,

The color of that water is kind of a giveaway, plus you know I spend a lot of time admiring that part of the coast.  That area looks very unique to me.

Were those the 40' waves we had earlier this year?  If so, I was probably out there watching you talke pictures even though we didn't meet.

Those waves were downright MENACING.  They looks much scarier than Mavericks, even.  It was quite a site to see those surfers brave enough to get out there.  It looked suicidal to me.

I have a few pictures of them, but nothing I would compare with yours.  As I remember it, we didn't get much sun those days.  You must have got those shot on Day one of that swell, which lasted 3-4 days, right?
