taking your kid to the doctor!
Nov 3rd, 2008 at 5:11pm

I'm sure others have stories.  I just got back from taking my kid to the dermatologist.  He's got molluskm contagiusm.  Essentailly warts on his but and groin area.

What should have been a simple application of medicine to the infected areas turned into my 3 year old boy needing to be restrained by 4 people including myself.   What a strong SOB he is!!!

To make matters worse, or embarrassing.  I first picked my son up from my mother in laws.  Apparently someone did not make sure he wiped his ass after taking a crap and he had shit all over his under wear which was quite obvious to the staff and embarrassing to me.

I then had to carry him to the car, quite a hike through the parking lot.  The whole time he is screaming and trying to pull the little bandages off down in his pants.  Now, if they came off, I have to take him back to have it done again.  I'm surprised nobody thought I was kidnapping him and called the cops as it was quite the scene.

As soon as Mommy gets home, I'll be picking up some beer down at the deli.  Holy crap!

I know many 3 year olds that are not potty trained, so don't worry about the poop on the drawers..... I KNOW they have seen worse.

As for restraint.....you should be happy to see your kid stand up for himself and do it so well.  Much harder for someone to abuse him when he fights that much.  As a parent, I like that.

Anyway, nicely done.  I am trained in restraint and have had to do it a few too many times on little kids and it is amazing how tough it is.

Finally, enjoy the beers, you have earned them.

Kev

Been there too.... and it sucks.   My daughter had these warts on her knee when she was 3 and nothing worked.  Had to take her to dermatologist where they  injected her knee with medicine.   She screamed, had to be restrained  etc etc.   Such drama!!!

Embarrassing as hell....  Now while my daughter didn't have skid marks in her undies, my son did do his business in a ball pit once when he was two , failed to tell anyone , other kids were playing in the pit at the time.  Needless to say... the whole ball pit was covered in crap and he was banned from the store... Roll Eyes

You have certainly earned your down time this evening....

Sorry for the little guy and you too.

Nothing's ever easy, I guess but don't be embarrassed; it's almost impossible to shock nurses or doctors.

Good luck to the little tyke.

Poor little thing (you're such a brute to put him thru something like that). Hope you got him a "treat" after that ordeal! (spoken like a TRUE Granny!).

I've NEVER understood why kids act that way with PARENTS! My little Caleb always acts like an angel with me regardless of what we have to do at the doc (draw blood or whatever - he just sits there while Granny makes jokes - the nurses are amazed at how "good" he is) Let his parents enter the room - all bets are off.

But as a Granny - one word of advice -- Patience... this too shall pass and they will grow up and have children and you can look back and laugh when they tell you the antics "their" kids pull... Smiley  Makes the gray hair worth while.....

Hugs BD
