Loosing My Strength(Another goodbye)Final Update
Nov 6th, 2008 at 8:28pm

I know I've asked for this a lot lately but I just got the final word. Grandma's going and going fast. They say from 2 days to 2 weeks. I've barely got enough left to keep from falling apart so please if you could send my family and I a little more strength it would be greatly apperciated. She was admitted to the hospital tonight with fluid filled lungs and more tumors than the last scan. She's pretty out of it right now and will be in the ICU at least over night. Hospice has been called in for when she goes home. Please say prayers for this amazing lady who has not shed even a single tear yet and continues to fight. We can only hope that her pain goes quickly so she does not have to suffer any more. Thank you all once again so much because you have been amazing the past few days.

Grandma's are really hard to let go of, and I am really sorry that you are going through this.  It's a part of life that tears our hearts out.

Hospice will make her transition much easier, less pain, and more support for you and your family. Wise choice.

I'm truly sorry...  Cry

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

It a hard time for you right now.

I've been down that road...my grandmother was the closest person to me.  I was out of it for months...angry at the world for what and how it happened.

It is good not to forget...but then it isn't good to dwell in the past.

My hopes and prayers go out to you and your family...and though the pain may take time to relieve itself, you will become stronger because of it.

It's zero fun but don't beat yourself up. It's okay to feel as you do but you'll also find that when it's necessary, you'll go into some kind of what I call "competence mode" for awhile. I don't know what to call it other than that but it does exist.

Thinking a praying for you.

I'd like to hear more about your grandma too Felicia, she is obviously a pretty amazing lady and I'd love to hear some of your memories.

Remember, no matter how much it hurts, it's better to have had her for the short time you have than not at all and you know she'll never be gone. She'll be there waiting for you every time you think of her.

Brid and I will be there soon and we'll all meet up again. I'm really looking forward to that.

lots of love

Prayers are going out for you and your family. Tell us about her and what she means to you. Grandma's are so special to us. My own Lucy B. departed this earth 23 years ago and I still think of her with a smile and such great memories. Talk to us....

Felicia,
My Grandmother died 18 years ago and I still miss her.  She was an amazing woman and a profound impact on my life.  My daughter was lucky enough to be able to meet her and spend a little time with her.

This hurts and it's going to hurt awhile longer.  It's okay to break down, just don't let it break you.  There will come a time, when the good memories will outweigh the bad ones (the end times).

You can make it through this.  And Charlie is so right about the *competence* mode (I"ve always called it my *survival* mode).

Felicia..

I am so sorry for your pain Sweetie... I will not tell you that I know how you feel, because I don't; but I do know the feeling of loosing someone I love.

I will say a Prayer for you and your family..

Today I lifted up your Family
      Before the Lord in prayer.
I asked Him to supply your needs,
And keep you all in His care.

        Dear Heavenly Father,
            I plead with You today
    To take away Felicia's pain;
          To chase away her sorrows,
    As The sunshine chases rain.

Much Love & Many Prayers

I'm so sorry for your coming loss.  Hold tight to the memories you have.  I too would love to hear a story about her.

Loss is tough.  Especially the young and those we'd always assumed would be there forever.  Having them happen back to back like this just isn't fair.

As for your strength, no one here is underestimating you.  See that you don't either.

Smiley to you, Billy and the rest of the family.

Saw her tonight after school for a few hours. She's home and semi-comfortable but a little depressed and very tired. Quiet tired myself so I won't go into a detailed update tonight. Going back tomorrow for work like always so maybe something then. Powers give strength to her.

Felicia I lost my Nana 2 years ago, time eases the pain of the loss, and your heart will always have a place for her.  It's hard to do from the position you are in right now, but one of the gems of advice I received when my father died 8 years ago, was 'remember to always celebrate her life as well as mourn her death'.  It was the wisp of thread that got me through both my Dad and my Nana's passing.

Hang in there kiddo, you have a lot on your plate, there is no weakness in leaning on friends.

*hugs*
