INS (Immigration)

The news announced that one of the heads of INS had resigned. Seems this was the woman (Myers I think was her name) that ferretted out Obama's aunt (a day or two before the election). Of course the news was playing it up as "election fraud" but it brings up a real good point..... this woman was four years over her deportation order and it took that "long" to find her????? BS!!!

In other countries, when your Visa runs out - YOU GET OUT of that country - not four years later - not two days later - you get out the day BEFORE your visa runs out! In Korea (South that is) you can stay for three months and then you LEAVE. It's as simple as flying to Japan, getting your passport stamped and flying back, getting your visa stamped for another three months, but YOU DO IT! Most other countries are the same - the time may vary, but they have RULES about who comes into their country and how long you stay and what you can do while you are there. Most of the time (there are exceptions) they are very hospitable while you are there, but you follow their rules and have NO rights to any of their "programs". You are a "guest" and had best act like one.

How hard would that be to enforce that in the US. In other countries they KNOW where you are (they have computers and know WHY you are in their country).

Our INS needs to be reorganized and someone put in charge with some sense. I, for one, would feel a whole lot more secure, if our Homeland Security would follow up on these expired visas than put out color coded alerts....

Hugs BD
