Angels on the Bluff~Hey Jackie~pics

Every year, Friends of the Natchez City Cemetary present Angels On the Bluff.  People take on the persona of different people who are buried there.  All representations are historically accurate.  I wish they had a written program so I could tell you about the different people represented last night.  Maybe next year, I'll be a whole lot better at shooting nighttime pictures.  The better pictures were actually taken with Jimbo's P&S.

Luminaries light the walkways/roads

And a pic or two from the walk that I participated in today for Out of the Darkness, a suicide prevention awareness organnization.  I was part of the team representing a 20 year old boy who took his life last year.

Wow, Darlin....such a neat event.  Were the people dressed in costume telling their stories? This is a fundraiser for the cemetary??
I certainly didn't see anything wrong with the images......thanks for posting.

Was the Out of Darkness walk a memorial and a fundraiser for awareness?  Our Darlin'.....always up and out for a good cause.

Thanks again for the images......always love your work.

Much Love,
Jackie

Jackie,
This is a fundraiser for the cemetary, parts of which have been damaged by vandals (there are tomb stones that have been broken, iron work stolen, etc.).  The people in costume were telling the stories of those buried there, in fact, most of the people were descendents of the ones they were telling the story about.

Yes, Out of the Darkness is both a fund raiser for the organization and a memorial walk.  Here's the link if you want more info.  And I have already committed to walking next year.

Very kewl Carolyn, always love to see your pics! What a neat way to raise funds too, I would never have thought of something so original.

The balloons are an amazing shot, that must have been a powerful moment for those who were out supporting the cause.
