So I moved...
Nov 9th, 2008 at 6:25am

For the past few days I've been busy with a move. I packed my things and moved from Jyväskylä to Helsinki, so I'm living in the Finland's capital once again. Smiley

I honestly thought that I didn't have that much things, but still my things filled our car 3 times! Grin Now I feel like getting rid of a lot of more stuff... Grin Luckily we could take a lot of things to our summer cottage. I won't be needing those things right now.

Books are nice, but they and all of my porcelin and glass decorations are hellish come a moving day... But none of my things got lost nor were dropped. And besides 3 cd/dvd boxes, everything is unpacked, yahoo! Cool

It is bit odd to live with mom again, but it's kind of nice to be back in the city and house I grew up in. And later today, I'm going to break the news to my friends - it will be great to be closer to them again. Smiley

Tomorrow is interesting and exciting day for me: it's my first day at my new job! Smiley

Sanna

Sanna, glad the move went well, sure does let one know how much stuff we collect over time. Your friends will be excited to see you again.

Congrats on your new job, what will you be doing?

Thank you, Barry. Smiley

I'll be working at my favourite department store as a shop assistant and the department in question will be men's clothes. Smiley

I hope you enjoy getting settled back in at home!  Yes, books are a pain to move!!!  I never sold my books from school, so by the time I came home for grad school I had a bookcase about 6 feet tall, 3 1/2 feet wide stacked full of books and a few that did not even fit on it.  If it weren't for those heavy books, coming back home would have been easy.  Smiley
Good luck with your new job and have fun seeing all your friends again!!

Congrats on the new job, Sanna.

I'm picturing a nice assortment of knit turtleneck ski sweaters.    Wink

Good job for you!

Kasper:   Sooo many things to move.  I told Sanna you could go along with me so she wouldn't have to store you at the summer cabin.

Eetu:   Thanks dude.

Glad you are moved in with minimal damage to your porcelain and glass.

Like Lisa. One wall of my livingroom is stuffed with books...90% of them I never crack. Dunno why I keep them other than I like the acoustic effect. Maybe we all should look into minimalism.

Thank you guys!

Jonny, it's great that I have a home to go to - a blessing, in fact. So many close relatives, all of my friends and mom are all here, so it's great to be back.

Lisa, I have lots of media books which I first moved from London to Helsinki, then to Jyväskylä and now back! Luckily I've actually needed a few of them during my stay in Jyväskylä, so it was useful. Otherwise, I'd be gutted right now. Grin

Charlie, I'm planning to study minimalism as well. Once I'll move to the next place, I plan to have as little stuff as possible. It's great that dvds are light... Smiley

Kevin, too bad that I didn't get to keep Eetu and Kasper... They're with Timo back at Jyväskylä. He bought them, so he got to keep them. Shared custody is not an issue with guinea pigs, so I have my memories and pictures to hold on to when I'll miss them and I do.
And yes, there are lots of nice sweaters... Wink
