I slacked big time yesterday.

Today I got in a 15 minute cardio workout with the Wii and then I did a 60 minute dvd that combined aerobics and weight training.  75 minutes total today  Shocked

I found this yesterday on yahoo, thought it might help:

Good article Jen, thanks!

You know, yesterday was just insane.  Jesse even took Ava up north with him for the day which left time to myself, but do you even think I could take the bubble bath I've wanted for so long?  Nope.  I actually ended up taking one at 5:30 this morning cause that's when I had time for it. Roll Eyes

Last night hubby finally took me out to dinner, just the 2 of us.  We went to a place called Tempura House.  They have Chinese, Japanese and Korean food.  My fav. is the Hibachi Shrimp & Scallops.  I ate one plate and 1/2 of another and I was stuffed!  A year ago I could easily finish 2 plates and then have dessert.  Guess my stomach has shrunk a bit, lol.

Our Christmas cards came today that I ordered.  Wouldn't you know it they sent the wrong sized envelopes? Smiley  So I am eating some chocolate stars for the cookies I was supposed to make today.  Good grief. Tongue

Oh Melly.  At least you got your bubble bath in this morning even if you had to get up super early to do it  Wink  I'm glad you and hubby got to go out on a date last night.

I had to work out that much today.  We're going out with Jackie, Blake and MR tonight so I know that I'll eat too much and have a couple of beers  Cheesy

We just went on another mammoth cliff walk. Up and down stairs cut into the rock. I am beat. We walked for about 2 hours.

It's 3.20pm, Stephen's getting a fire on and I'm going to make some meatballs and mashed potato for supper tonight. Then I'll be getting into my pjs in about 45 minutes and getting myself on the couch with a Christmas movie. I think I earned it today though.

I suck at this.  I have a really bad cold with body aches and chills and do NOT want to exercise at all. Embarrassed

I also feel like I have a tape worm.  I had a nutty bar and huge bowl of chili for breakfast, lol.

Weigh in this a.m. has me up a pound from last week, but I honestly don't care right now.  I don't feel good! Tongue

Alright, after laying Ava down for about an hour nap, I then went and submersed myself into a very hot bath for about 30 min, then got out, dressed and hit the bike for 15min.  I figure some is better than none, right?

My head still feels like lead tho. Sad

15 mins on there is SO much better than doing nothing at all.

15 mins every day is just a small amount of time, but would do the job just nicely!

Keep going Mel.

Mel I'm sorry you're not feeling good.  Good for you still getting a workout in.

I've been bad.  I haven't excercised since Saturday.  Last night at work I drank a regular Coke and a Monster Loca Moca.  Talk about meaningless calories.

Tomorrow is a new day.

One off day is allowed!

Come on girls. We can keep this up! I've just been out for a 30 min power walk and am now going to head for a bath.

PS: Mel - with a spritz cookie recipe, can I shape the cookies using my hands? I wanted to make candy cane shapes, but take 2 long bits of dough (one red in colour and the other peppermint flavoured) and twist them round each other and make a cane shape. Would it work?

Sorry to post foodie questions here!

I baked Christmas cookies this weekend.  I cannot stay away from them!  I haven't exercised in a week either!  What's wrong with me?!

Hope you're feeling better, Mel!

It has been rough, hasn't it?  I don't know if it's the cold crappy snowy weather or what but I am down in the dumps.

Are you feeling better today Mel?

On a brighter note.  I got a 15 minute workout in on the Wii.  My weight is slowly creeping down.  I thought for sure after being lazy for two days that I would've had some kind of gain, so I'm a happy camper on that one.

Hey ladies, thanks for the caring!  No, I don't feel any better, I feel worse.  So hubby picked up some Zicam for me (the tablets).  I've never tried it before but I figure, what do I have to lose other than ten bucks??

Em- sure you can do that with the spritz!  I believe I used to do the same thing when I had time on my hands. Wink

Jeannie- what's wrong?  The Holidays!!! Grin

Jen- yay on the weight going down!  I think that winter is starting to kick our asses tho.  We don't want to exercise all the time, lol.

S'ok, after New Years I'm gonna buckle down!  That doesn't mean I'm not exercising till then tho, just wanna make that clear. Wink

Hey Mel,

Maybe it's time for some antibiotics.   How many days has it been?  I'm proud of you that you were able to still force yourself to work out!

Jen, It's great that you are seeing those numbers drop on the scale.  Keep it up!

I don't know what my deal is.  I have just been eating ALL day!   I did make myself get to the Y.  I did 50 mins on the eliptical.  Did I spell that right? Undecided   Of course I came home an undid any good it may have done.  I stuffed my face with chocolate chip cookies!   It so cold and crappy out.  I just want to crawl into bed and get under the covers!  It has been spitting freezing rain and snow for the past two days.  It's not even pretty snow.  Just yucky!

Okay, I'm finished complaining.  G'nite!

Sad

I too am feeling crap today.

Think I have a stomach bug. Yuck. The only thing making me feel a tiny bit better (other than the ginger ale) is that maybe I'll shed some weight.

Please let me be better for Christmas...  Sad

So far the Zicam seems to be working.  I am hoping to feel almost 100% by this weekend!! Smiley

Oh Em, I am so sorry!  I hope you get better real fast hon!! Smiley

As for me, I didn't get on the bike this a.m. either.  Mostly due to Ava waking early.  She also pitches a huge fit when I'm on it and I put her in the playpen. Undecided  SO, hopefully I can get back into the groove tomorrow morning and get in 20 min between 5:30 and 6:30 am!

Sheesh

btw, my diet has been "anything goes" lately. Embarrassed

Mel I'm glad that you're feeling a little better today.  That's great.

Em I'm sorry that you're feeling crappy.  Sending some get well vibes to ya.  I think the same way.  When I'm feeling like shit I don't eat much so I usually drop a pound or two.

Jeannie good for you getting on that elliptical for 50 minutes.  It's okay that you went home and ate after.

It's the holidays so I'm with Mel, anything goes.

I worked out on the Wii today for 25 minutes and then I did body sculpting for an hour.  Feel the burn  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I think that I'm losing my mind  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Jen, you must get some of sick enjoyment out of exercising, don't you? Grin

Amazingly enough, I felt good enough this morning to get 15 min. in!  Well, that and Ava went down for her morning nap early, lol.  I am now snacking on summer sausage, muenster cheese and a couple cookies, ROFL.

Good grief.

I need to get back into my workout regimen, too. One thing I always do is build in a "free day." Usually Sunday. On that day, I can eat whatever I want, as much as I want. It helps me remain focused and dedicated for the rest of the week, and around the fourth week of a workout program, I discover that I'm eating less junk on Sundays. I lose my taste for it.

Another thing, is that I use protein shakes ("Muscle Milk" is awesome!!) and supplement my three small meals each day, with two or three protein shakes. It really amps up the metabolism. Smiley

Hope everyone who is sick is feeling better. Good luck!
