Where were you?

I was in study class, in the 8th grade ... The teacher was my Social Studies teacher.

I bet those of you that are old enough to be around and remember, know exactly where you were, too!

<sigh>

Third grade.  I remember most my Dad getting home from work, crying.  I asked him why because I knew he HATED JFK because of the Bay of Pigs.  He said, "Because he is my President."  I'll never forget that.

I had not yet started school and was home watching TV. When the news broke, I ran to tell my mother that someone had shot the President. She got a tad ill with me saying I should never joke about such things. I had to drag her to the TV to prove I wasn't.

I was 5, after my morning kindergarten class was over.  I went with my mom to a bakery and we heard the news over their radio...

I was in the fourth grade.

Came inside from recess, and everyone was huddled in little groups, talking and crying.  One of my friends told me "the President's been shot."

I don't remember most of the rest of the day, but I'll not forget the shock of hearing that for the first time.

Best,

George

I was watching "Divorce Court" on TV (working nights) when they cut in and announced it. Then the rest of the day was a blur. No one believed it had happened and everyone was crying.

The days that followed were glued to the TV (black and white TV at that). The only thing that really stands out from those days (I think we were all in shock) was John Jr. standing at attention and saluting the casket.

45 Years -- seems like yesterday  -- it's still that vivid.

I was a very young secretary working in an interior design gallery, sitting at my posh desk.  The gallery manager made the announcement and after the silence of utter shock, everyone started crying.  We closed early and sat glued to the TV through the evening.

I was on the playground playing Farmer In the Dell with my Kindergarten class in Poughkeepsie, NY. We were sent home and my Grandmother was ironing and crying and my Mom was crying. My Dad was overseas. I too remember that day vividly.
