I was 17, a junior in high school doing something or other in woodshop when the PA system announced it. They left the PA radio on all day long. The thing that I remember most about the day in school is that the halls were dead silence. All 1,400 boomers went speechless...and that we had just moved into our new home a few days before.

It was Friday and we were glued to the three different Buffalo tv stations we had.....that's all we could get back then. It was like WTC in many ways but the reason so much of it was live was that otherwise they usually had to take movies and run developed film. After Ruby shot Oswald, nobody shut off the tv.
