Car Lovers Out There?
Nov 25th, 2008 at 3:04pm

After reading Linda's post regarding her move and the need to sell her beloved car, it seems there are many car enthusiasts on this forum.

Please post pictures or stories of your past, present, or future hobby cars.

Someone be brave and please get this thread started...it could be fun!

I may not be able to remove it but I sure can modify it
[at least for now anyway].

So, now the ability to remove one's own post has been
eliminated?

I thought the title of the thread was "Cat Lovers Out There?"  ROFLMAO.

Oh well - as long as I'm here......

Gary's first car was a 1974 Trans Am.  It was the only year Pontiac had a Chevy engine in it.  It was a 454 super duty.  The car itself was pretty much wrecked - burnt to hell.  I don't know what happened, but that car (the car itself, not the make/model) was the pacer at the Indy 500.  It was burnt completely out inside and needed a lot of work, but Gary completely fixed it up.  He found banana yellow paint cheap, and that thing GLOWED.   Grin  Damn but it was hard not to constantly get pulled over in it.   Roll Eyes

I miss that car.

Wow.....you all have had or have some really fine rides.

Here is Blake's Shelby Mustang....he sure wishes he still had.
The bottom is a drag car (full body Beretta) my brother and I raced on the NHRA circuit a few years ago.

I LOVE cars.....have had a 280Z and a couple Corvettes...one brand new and one, a '71 roadster that I did a complete restoration to.  Now that was a job!

Jackie, we are very happy with Photobucket, hope you can get all your pics back. Shutterfly is still not working for us, but we had nothing stored there so no loss to us.

why cant i do the big pics

You have to post them on a host server and paste the link between (img) and (/img) (Brackets where you see the ()..) to have them display.

Do a quote on a post with a pic and you will see what I mean. Wink

Hope that helped?

Not fast, nor shiney, nor a hot rod.
Just the oldest Isuzu Trooper still alive on the road...and here is it's story.  1984 Trooper bought for $300 and pulled it outta the mud.
Loved that truck...

Had a 1977 280Z (white, gold trim) my second car ever. FUN car...speedometer went to 160...Remember going down the highway thinking..this car sure is smooth at 55mph...looked down and was at 100! No shimmy, no shake, no problem...always had to be careful...it was sooooo easy... I miss the manual shift.

Unfortunately, it was like sitting in a bathtub with my legs out straight...at 6'3" with a bad back, I could barely get out...had to sell. Hope you get yours goin once the house is settled...

Jon

Dream cars.....just my subject.
I'll start out with the first car I ever wanted...
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register
1969 Road Runner B5 blue in color. My plans were to buy one when I turned 16. In 1974 you could buy the nicest one in town for $1000.00. I had the money, found the car and my Dad said no way. "Son, you'll kill yourself with that." Looking back, he was probably correct. Even now, I still want one.

Next we have....
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register
1970 Plymouth Cuda 340. This was my second choice.....same answer from my father.  Roll Eyes

Moving on to present day....
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register
2008 Dodge Viper. Now that I can have anything I want, I don't have the money for it......

Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register
Just to show I would buy a new Chevrolet (my friends don't believe I would) a 2008 Corvette Z06 in Atomic Orange. Sign me up.....now!

And finally...just because I like the big old 50's cars....
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register
1956 Packard Caribbean....flagship of the last of the true Packards.

Now what's in my garage?
2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab
1978 Pontiac Trans Am (one owner and yes, I'll sell it)
1957 Chevrolet (3rd owner and no, I won't sell it)

But mine did not look as good with some cancer from the salt.. Smiley

The 350 with HR intake and 4bl made it move like lightening! Cool

No 318 or 302 could touch it..A 383 charger did put me in my place one time and I laughed as a AMX (blew by without strain) and made quick order of me! Grin

And the RTS made it handle, I had it going 135 mph one night! GOD the memories!!!
