OK, ok … You finally got me to post some pictures.  These are not of my actual cars, but pictures I found on the web, of the year, make and model of the ones I miss owning.

My first baby: 1959 Chevy Impala Convertible.  Mine was white, with red accents, and a red and white interior.

My next honey (but not next car) was my 1965 Chevy Impala Convertible.  When I bought it, it was white, with a black top.  I did a full color change, and painted it forest green with a white top.

A couple cars later, I started my long term love affair with British Sports Cars.  My first was a 1969 MG Midget, bright yellow, with black interior and top. (By today’s pricing, my reasoning for buying this car sounds silly.  But I had a 69 Ford Thunderbird, with a HUGE 400 something engine.  I bought the MG, because it costs too much to fill up the T-bird with gas.  It cost me a whole NINE dollars!)

My next love affair car was my 69 Plymouth Fury Convertible.  It had the same color scheme as the picture.

Now, the car that I never did own, but to this day would love to get, was Detroit’s prime example of excess, the 1959 Cadillac Convertible.  Monster size.  Monster fins. Monster chrome.  And then those beautifully excessive and extravagant tail lights, up on the fins.  Ahh, such beauty!

Obviously, as a man that grew up in the 50’s and 60’s, and is now approaching 60, I had MANY cars.  Several were memorable, but SO many were just transportation.  If I had the money, I would be buying a new car every month or so.  I would also have a fleet of them, that I would keep.  My hero is Jay Leno.  If you want to look at a car collection, go to his site: Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Hope you enjoyed my trip down my memory lane!

Chuck

This, for me, was the ultimate driving machine.  It lived up to every expectation I had of a street-legal super car.  I put 126,000 miles on it and sold it to a guy in Dallas.  I was happy to drive it to him to drop it off (Pismo Beach, California to Dallas, Tx), then I took a train trip home.

If ya talking about mine Barry......it's "Chesterfield Brown". When I ordered it I hadn't even seen the color except in pictures. I just knew I didn't want the colors the local dealer stocked. Black, white and red. Everyone wanted those 3 colors. I wanted something different. It was the first brown one they had sold.....and it figures.....they started ordering brown for stock after mine came in.  Roll Eyes

Planning on it.....I never drive it, it's in storage that costs $100 / month...I'd rather sell it to someone that will enjoy it. It's in good shape and would make someone a nice collector car.

I miss my '65 Fastback Stang.  Never should have sold it.

For now, keep me in Jeeps forever and I'll be one happy camper.

Cathi, not much help here. It just shows me the opening page to Photobucket, not your pics. Someone will be along to help shortly. Angie and I are just learning Photobucket ourselves, and so far we love it. You will figure it out. Smiley

Notice the skid plating. The plastic was so rotted you could pick it apart with your fingers.

Here's the engine after a long west Texas dust storm. It was pretty shiny. I had stripped and polished the valve cover when I bought it.

I'll be putting it to daily driving condition very soon. It only needs new tires (Pirelli P-0) to pass an inspection. And of course a new battery. 4 new sets of wheel bearings wouldn't hurt either. It's also really hard to put a toddler into a car seat in one of these!
