Good grief..
Nov 30th, 2008 at 12:17pm

Our local small-town Thanksgiving Parade:

A pick-up truck carrying a Christmas tree, 3 Shriners with their tasseled hats, a couple of ambulances and a fire truck with their lights flashing and, last but not least, the high school band that can't even march in time.

Our local small-town Thanksgiving Parade, as hokey as can be, but it still warms the heart.

Donna,
Mom is here for the holiday.  I read her your post.  I just assumed it was in Englewood.  Made her smile and she says to tell you hello.

Love to you,
Jackie

Jackie:

Tell your Mom that I said hello and think of her just about every Saturday, when I go shopping and pull into O.C. Blvd.    Cool

Hey it made me smile. sounds like some parades around here - except we ALWAYS have some horses (this is redneck country). Of course the band marches in FRONT of the horses... Smiley

Jackie, give your mom my love too...

Donna,

I love small town hokey parades!

In a community about 3 miles north of me, they have a parade and (insert drum roll here), a Christmas Weed.

Doesn't get any hokier (is hokier a word?) than that, eh?

The only parade we have in this town is the parade of people at the Airport, everyone goes back to where they come from for Christmas.

Karratha is a transient mining town & gee it gets peacfull when they all leave. Wink

Cheers
Barry
