quick poll- breakouts?
Dec 4th, 2008 at 11:45pm

Does anyone else break out during their cycle, a la 8th grade style?  About halfway through (at 3 month mark) I started breakin' out like gangbusters.  I didn't even break out like this when I WAS a 12-year-old!!   Grin

Ya mean ZITS???

I was told that when you grow up, you outgrow them.  I just don't know how old you have to be to outgrow them.  I know I was rather frustrated to see my 101 year old Grandmother have "zits" ...

But, in answer to your question, back when I was episodic, I never noticed that.  It could be a small reaction to the meds you take, during your cycle.

Break outs AND deeper wrinkles and grey skin from lack of sleep and screwing my face up with pain.

I look like a 90 year old teenager at the end of a cycle  Cry Cry

Not really joking, it REALLY gets me down how bad I look after a few weeks of attacks

I know what you mean Wendy!

I can't tell you how many times during a cycle, people have said, " You look tired."  That is one of the reasons I don't like to be out even if I don't get hit!  It is just so hard to explain.  I also tend to bruise my arms when I give myself the trex injections.   Then, if I'm wearing short or no sleeves, I have to explain that.

I do notice break outs while in cycle.  I also attribute it to the stress of being in pain and having no sleep.... Pred too of course.

Jab any flab you can find on your midriff (I have loads!) Grab as much flesh as you can and jab that- hurts a lot less, doesn't bruise and no explanations needed.

That's where most diabetics inject, and they should know

Interesting this thread pops up when there's an active thread on testosterone therapy in treatment of CH!

Apparently changes in testosterone levels affect the sebaceous glands, which is what can create acne.  I'm quite sure steroids also have some effect, though I thought it was anabolic steroids not corticosteroids.  Will have to do some research.

iiiiiiinteresssting...(in best Laugh-In voice)  so far it looks like only the ladies get this particular "side effect"?  (granted, we need more responders, heheh)

Yeah, I thought it was steroids, but I only took that for a few days, and that was three months ago.  In fact, there isn't any one single new medicine that I've been on for more than a week this whole time..... Huh
