I like B&W
Dec 5th, 2008 at 4:25pm

Can't help it - it's where I started in the 60's with Pan-X and Plus-X in the darkroom. I'm working hard on simulating it with digital, won’t know if I’ll be happy until I see it printed next week.

Ordered up a 20” print just now.

I'm betting that Bob P and Fubar will know right where I was standing when I captured this one.

Absolutely brilliant guess Linda.   Cheesy

Bad spelling, but brilliant guess. (That's Morro Rock in Morro Bay)

I feel incredibly lucky to see that view on a regular basis.

When I first started work at Poly, we lived the 1st week in Morro Bay State Park and the 2nd at Atascadero State Beach (they may have changed the name but the one by your old house).  My kids always wanted to go a little north on the campground to play with the anenomes in the rocks.  I do believe you're standing on them.  I consider it the end of Morro Bay and beginning of Cayucos.

BTW - you're a pretty good photograper, big lungs 'n all.

I love it!  It is so stark!  Almost surreal, but yet seems even more vivid than in color.

Beautiful shot and I know how you feel about black & white. I started with it in the 50s....though nowhere near the technician you are. I miss those old darkroom days.

Thanks for that Marc.

You nailed it to within about 30 feet! Right above those rocks, but below the bluff above.I'd forgotten about the campground story - those were the days, huh!

Gotta go work out my lungs now.....wish they were as big as my belly.

VERY cool picture, Marc...

"'Neath waves of golden sunshine
And have you ever been north of Morro Bay
The south coast plows the sea
And the people there are of the breed
They don't need electricity
Water, water, cool cascades of clear, clear water
The sun dance final scene sets the hills ablaze.
Horizon edges quick up the mountain's way.
Have you ever been down Salinas way?
Where Steinbeck found the valley
And he wrote about it the way it was in his travelin's with Charley"

from the Beach Boys California Saga
