You all are inspirational.  Tommorrow we go and get the tree.  I think I am going to have some hot buttered rum too.  Post pictures tommorrow.

Paul,  great tree and nut cracker.

Linda, you got anymore of that egg nog?

Mel,
What a beautiful family (oh, and tree:)

Em,  How festive!

The bottles are fantastic.  My 27 year old daughter may want to do something like that.

Merry Christmas everyone!

This is a repost, but...it's from last year, when Buddy, our cat, wanted to help decorate the tree! Gil had a tough time balancing cat and human!!!

Beautiful!! I really feel Christmassy now.

There's just something warm and cosy about a home with a Christmas tree, don't you think?

Keep 'em coming folks!

Great trees everyone!

Linda.... How can you hate eggnog!?  I love it.  My mom used to make it!   Now it's my sister's job a Christmas to make it.   It is much better than store bought.   I still miss my mom's though.

Jeannie

Edited because I can't spell TREES!

OMG! I LOVE  the bottle trees! Those are just awesome! I love ALL the trees posted! The soul, the spirit, the fragrance.Em,your wreath is wonderful too!!
Linda, howjado that thingie with the lights?? It looks like serpentine you threw all over the tree! We do that on New Years Eve, when we are home.....it looks soo cool!
Last night, the Fire Dept came thru our neighborhood, all decorated with lights, horns and Christmas music blasting....I was like a kid! That was soo cool! We ran to the kitchen and bagged up a bunch of non-perishables, found some unwrapped toys, and took them out for them to take to less fortunate. now, I've gotta go BACK to Target and get Michael's gifts again.....the only things I cannot getr online.well, I could, but he is soo specific this year!
Fri night, it's the Christmas Ships.........OHHH! I SOOO LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!
Get ready, coz, I'm gonna fill this thread with pics!!!

Well, like I said I was just messing around trying things out and I set the shutter speed to 3 seconds.  Then I backed away from the tree.  Hope that makes sense.

Luinda,

And it's creativity at its finest! I’ll be hard pressed to catch up with you, now that you have perfected a new secret technique.  Wink

Luinda,

I tried for about three hours, then gave up. I just can't seem to get your technique.

The top of the Texas star is about 10', but it looks short because of the high ceilings.

There are three more shorter trees in different rooms because my wife is crazy about Christmas trees.

She even sneaked a little 5' one into the media room when I wasn't looking

There is another in the master bedroom, and yet another in the living room. Geeeeez......

rotflmao Marc!!  We usually have 3 in our house for Christmas (all real) but because we have a 9 month old, we stuck with an artificial for the front room and one real one in the family room.  Otherwise there'd be one in each young kids bedroom too (which if we did it this year, we'd have 4 trees).

Beautiful trees!! Smiley

LOL>>Marc.Stacey is simply normal! In a usual year, there is a small tree in my kitchen, one in my master bedroom, one in the family room and one in each bath.... not to mention my Santa collection, Nutcrackers and...oh, and the main tree in my livingroom! This year, we are downsizing.... Gil put half the stuff in the "dungeon", to see if I could live without it!

My tree looks more like the kind you 'shop from"..it's waaayy overloaded! This year I added a mermaid, a seahorse, conch shell and sea star..in keeping with our destination home.....

I WANNA SEE MORE TREES!

That is a beautiful tree Cathi, with what looks like years of collected keepsake ornaments on it.

The only thing I don’t see is a pole cat under the tree… Cheesy

Ok, it's not a tree, but it has branches for arms (as well as a spider eraser for one eye)...

LOL! OKEE DOKEE, Mel......remember,  I'm on the West Coast.. it's under 50 degreees today.soo....the world has stopped! We are in for a huge strorm in a day or 2.....and the nights have been around 38....everything stops here when the temp;s that low.....then, once it snows, we run out, make a snowman, then run right back in, q uick as bunnies!!!
Really pretty to look at, but we don't drive well in it and we on this coast get frostbite below 50.........

Time for a cuppa hot tea for me!

We don't have a tree up yet, much to Guiseppi's chagrin. We're going out of town for a few days and when he gets back he can put it up. I won't be back til 23rd. But I just didn't want to leave my housesitter the extra work of cleaning up what the cat tears up all day.   We'll post when we get it up. He tries out outdo himself every year with the "Biggest and Best" tree yet. God knows what I'll come home to!

Well, we put ours up tonight.  We never put it up until right before.

Had our friends over this evening for dinner, and the kids put the tree up (as they usually do).  I think they did a pretty nice job.

We can't put icicles on the tree, although I'd like to.  Cats eat icicles, and the results of that snacking are purely disgusting.    Tongue

Merry Christmas, all.

Best wishes,

George
