Christmas Trees!
Dec 6th, 2008 at 8:26am

Hello all,

Today I went out and bought my Christmas tree. Just letting it settle for a few hours before putting the decorations on.

Anyone got any pics of theirs up already? I'll post mine on as soon as it's finished!! Let's get in the holiday spirit.

Since we adopted Max, we'll need to test if a tree is going to survive, or if he's going to try to destroy it.

Due to allergies, I have to have an artificial tree here.  If nothing else, We'll just go without a tree this year.

Em,

I don't think we'll be having a Christms tree this year... Sad
Mom and I have been discussing about this topic for the past 10 years and so far, I've managed to talk her into getting a real Christmas tree.

But, this year is different. She has firmly decided that no more Christmas trees at our house! That is a shame, because we have plenty of wonderful decorations, some of them are my grandmothers... Sad

So, I'll be posting a pic of my tiny artificial tree in some point. I've had that tree about 23 years now.

I can't wait to see the wonderful trees you all will have! Smiley

Good.  The Christmas Tree thread.   Smiley

I've always enjoyed seeing others' trees in past years, and I hope to see this thread expand over the next couple weeks.

Best wishes to all of you in this season...

Hopefully, I will get my tree up today.  Then Sarah will bring Bella over tomorrow and the fun will begin.

If I have the time, I'll have to go with an artificial tree.  My male Dobie, Deeogee insists on christening the live trees that are brought into the house.  He probably thinks it's cool that Mom brought a tree inside for him.  Roll Eyes

Here's some nice mellow music to listen to while trimming your trees.

And here is the musician, Fretkllr's Youtube page in case you want to hear more of his music.  I love to listen to this guy.

Buck (our new cat) trashed my tree (artificial) three times in less than 20 minutes, so that is not going to work out at all. LOL

We have a toy drive today called "fill a cruiser" in which the police will be set up at the three main retailers in our town, Zeller's, Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire Store. We have no kids of our own so I am heading out right now to buy two toys, one for a girl and one for a boy. I do this every year as it sure makes me feel good knowing that I helped a child have a gift under their tree for X-mas morning. Smiley

I would like to see pics of all your X-mas trees as mine is back in it's box. Sad

Paul, I LOVE the huge nutcracker!!!  Your tree is beautiful too. Smiley

Pat, I think that what makes a cozy, warm Christmas is a small Christmas tree in a small home.  It's very pretty! Smiley

Ok, since our tree isn't up yet, I took a pic of the candleholder that's amidst some garland I have on my partition wall. Smiley

Am I the only one that likes that tree?  I think it's cool.  I've thought about collecting those "Bawls" bottles - the blue ones - and trying something like that.

Just my luck the cat would try to get on top . . . . . at 3am . . . . .

Hello!

Beautiful trees Paul and Pat.

As promised, here's mine. Still have a bit to do in the house to get some ornaments up. For the first time, I also made my own wreath for the front door! It's not great, but it's good for my first ever attempt!!

It's hanging against the door and the pic isn't great.

This one is for Langa!

Earth's oldest living inhabitant "Methuselah" at 4,767 years, has lived more than a millennium longer than any other tree. Discover how these trees were found and where they live. Learn of their unique strategies for survival. The focus will be on the White-Inyo mountain range of California.
