There was a map at one of the lookout points pointing the direction of Jersey, France and Southern England. Couldn't quite see it, but maybe in the summer on a really clear day we will. And I'll be making the boat trip across one weekend if you'll have me!! Em x

Loved the pics even though some of them made me a bit dizzy (I am scared of heights ) Your puppies are so cute. Bet they love romping and taking in all of the new smells and sights. Hi Paul,

There are limits to the number of outsidee people who can buy properties here. The housing market is split into 2 - an open market for anyone with enough money to buy a house and a local market for islanders. 2 same houses could be up for sale, on the local market it would cost about £250,000 and on the open market £1m. It's a way of making sure local people can afford to buy homes here. With our new jobs, we were lucky enough to get a local housing licence, which allows us to rent a house and live here like a local. It only lasts for 5 years though. Then we either reapply or we move on to somewhere else.
