It snowed!!
Dec 11th, 2008 at 6:05am

Okay Y'all, I live in Southeast Texas, right beside the Louisiana boarder.

It snows here, every few years, but it never blankets the ground. It always melts when it hits the ground.

The last time it caused a freeze was when I was 11. But the last time Snow blanketed the ground, I believe I was 4.

So after 20 years, it's finally snowed enough that there was an inch on the ground!

We were so shocked, we went outside and started taking pictures. Well, the dogs wanted out.

We let my rottie-boxer-god-only-knows-what mix out on her lead. (She's tied up at all times she's outside. She's too big of a baby, and gets scared of people. She won't bite 'em, but she scares the living hell out of them.) Her name is Precious, we call her Beba / Gilla Monster / Snakes on a Plane. (We couldn't think of anything to call her when we first got her.)

My cocker spaniel is Aurora / Little Bitty. (Vet said we can't call her that anymore. She's not fat, but her Mama and Daddy were HUGE for cockers. So she weights 40lbs.)

So they go outside, and are completely and utterly giddy about this new thing they have found. They both started to play in it.

Precious decided she was going to make some Snow-Beba's. She began to ROLL in it. Aurora probably would have, the little troll.

That's Precious. My Mom got a video of her rolling in the snow, and trying to get Aurora to play with her.

Well, Mom made them come inside, and after a few minutes, she went outside again to take more pictures.

Precious went and stood at the door and started to whine pitifully. So I put her on the lead and let her out, and she ran out and started bouncing around, and rolling in the snow again. It was pretty hard for Mom to get her back inside.

I sent the pictures to my boyfriend....and then he told me he'd be right back.

He lives in Chicago.

He went and took pictures of HIS snow. Then had me show my Mom and Aunt. They both said "He's showing off! He's just trying to beat out our snow." XD

I've got to upload the video of the dogs playing in the snow later. It was pretty funny. I didn't realize dogs even LIKED the snow... Hell, Precious doesn't like going outside if it's cold and my Papa isn't with her. LOL.

PFDAN everyone

Mystina

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

LOL Mystina, too cute!!  Have fun with your snow! Cheesy

I don't care what anyone says, I believe ALL dogs love the snow!  You should see my sheltie Nikita hop through it.  If we didn't shovel a path to our deck and wood boiler, she'd disappear! Smiley

LOL, that sounds hilarious. Good to know that other dogs like it too! One of the cats decided to eat some when I brought some in.

The other went out in it and kept sniffing it like "What IS this stuff? WHY is it in my way?" Morris usually isn't perplexed or put off by ANYTHING... So it was pretty funny watching how confused he was over the snow! He decided to stay out in it. LOL.

Sadly it's now melting... But on the news they were showing how everyone (No matter what age, adults, kids, senior citizens) were all out playing in it! We wound up getting 5-6 inches total. The people in the crew started throwing snowballs at the newscasters.

Precious is asking to be let out again. LOL.

Snowed pretty good here too.  Still on the ground. Very nice.

Dogs don't know how to act.

They did have fun, didn't they? Saw LA on the news too. Great fun. Mel's right, dogs love the stuff and you do have to shovel for them now and then. The Bassett could take only so much. He was very well-endowed and got a little chilly where it hurts.

Glad you had a good time.

Never thought I'd have to go to South Louisiana to see snow  Grin.  We haven't had a good snow up here in about 26 years.  We had a minor snow storm about 20 years ago, but not much.  Unfortunately, we tend to get icestorms more than anything else (and that is one reason we have two generators).
