Just 5? That is hard, I have too many faves... Fine. Here's 5 I like a lot:

The Hours
Moulin Rouge
Patch Adams
Ocean's 11
Braveheart

And then there's about 1000 romantic comedies... Grin

I can't list 5...

The company I am with right now is launching a service (top secret for now) that will have essentially ALL movies available ALL the time, on demand.  I'm not talking about the puny library of movies that NetFlix or the Apple Store has... I mean ALL the movies.  For free, btw.

Imagine being able to (from your TV, not your computer) pick and choose from over 400,000 titles from every major studio.  Or, being able to watch any NBA game ever televised, for example.

I am building the infrastructure to do this... it's bigger than anything I've ever built.  I built AT&T WorldNet, for example, so I know what 'big' is.

Unfortunately it's only for the US at this point, but world domination can't be too far off  Smiley

As we get closer and closer to launching this, I get more and more excited.  I can't wait until I can tell you all about it.  What I've told you is vastly oversimplified, but when we launch I'll give more details.  Our first units started rolling off the production line this week, and WOW it looks good.

The thing about hard times... people will always want to be entertained.

Peter Sellers's best movie ever.  The character of Chance the Gardener is a masterpiece.

Best,

Favourite movies?

Tough choice...

Moulin Rouge
Funny Face (and anything else with Audrey - my idol!)
Anchorman
The Wedding Singer
When Harry Met Sally

I could probably add another 10 here though!

5 is too few

The Painted Veil
It's a Wonderful life
Pay it Forward
Missisippi Burning
A Time to Kill

There are so many others I love too but I've tried to pick ones that really struck a chord with me. All these films have had a huge impact on me and on the person I want to be. (Thank Goodness he didn't ask for only five books - I'd have exploded! LOL)

Everyone has named some great movies. I cant steal anyones thunder with my list as all of  you had at least one that I liked a lot. So I am not going to try and list mine. One I did not see was "One Who Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest" and "American History X". So I will add those to the list.

Did I miss something or has NOT one person listed a Bogart move????  Personally, I like "to have and have not".  That Bacall chick was something!  I hear she went on to make other films too huh?   How about switching genre's,,,, like, "The Ten Commandments",  or "The Greatest Story Ever Told".  I think people tend to list their favorites based on certain aspects of their lives at the time they saw the flick. And then associate that flick with that certain time of their life. For example, I thought that "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" was one of the funniest things i ever saw,,,, when i was 18.  I watched it not too long ago,, sober,, and thought to myself,,,, "uh, maybe it isnt as good as I thought".  You folks understand what I am saying, or am i just rambling? (I have a tendency to do that).  Tuck

As most of you have said ... the list is SO inadequate!
