A Christmas visitor
Dec 18th, 2008 at 9:30am

Here I go breaking my promise and starting yet another thread.   Sorry.

A week or so ago, I woke up with that old familiar feeling... Yep, the beast.  It was around 4:30am.  I got up and drank an energy drink.  Within five minutes the pain was draining away.

Once again at 4:30 this morning I woke up to a hit.  This time it was a little worse.  I had the stuffed up nostril and the watery, red eye along with the pain.  The energy drink and constant movement took care of it after about 25 mins.  Still having heavy shadows now though and feeling pretty crappy!

I don't know what to think.  Am I starting a cycle?  Are these just rogue hits? Is there even such a thing?  I am a dummy and am unprepared.  You'd think I learn but here I am with no prevents and I don't have 02!  What a moron I am!!!!

I've had rogue hits before. Mostly heat related in my case. But I am a believer in the rogue hit - and the anxiety that follows them as you wonder "is this a new cycle starting".

It's looking like I'm getting a December visitor as well. Two hits last night, after little tickles that the visitor was on his way for the last couple weeks. Crap. Stopped and got me two fresh tanks on the way to work today.

Sorry to hear you've got yourself a visitor too, Scott.  I hope he leaves us both real soon!

Jeannie, why are you apologizing for starting threads?  To help address this feeling, I think you should start at least two threads a day!   Smiley

Living with a chronic, I can't answer your question about the rogue hits vs. new cycle.

I just know it sucks and I am really hoping it's just some random hits and that they'll STOP NOW!

...for you too, Scott.

I'll get the occasional rogue CH, always real low on the KIP scale but a definite CH headache. I'll get all freaked out, start pulling meds out and getting em ready, make sure the TREX kit is in my work bag and the regulator is on a full tank.................and it turns out it's just a rogue hit.

Do get in the habit of keeping some stuff on hand...just in case.

Here's hoping a rogue hit is all it was!

No HA this morning!  YIPEE!

Yesterday's hit was very low on the kip scale,  like you said, Joe.    I'm feeling fairly confident that it was just a reminder that "he" is still here.   I am wondering if the stress I'm feeling in dealing with a teenage boy in the house may have had something to do with it.

Thanks for the support, guys.

Scott, how are you?

They should change the death penalty from lethal injection to "life" with med-resistant chronic cluster headaches (with no 02 or other abortives).
