Money spent on a gift isnt everything.............
Dec 26th, 2008 at 12:41pm

Keith & Sam went to their dads yesterday morning, came home with their gifts........

Keith got a 30 or 32 inch flat screen high def tv/computer screen(or whatever it is!)
Sam got a camera and he is getting her windows tinted on her car.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I said, as they opened my gifts of which I spent $10 on........& they each got a card on which I wrote something special which brought tears to both their eyes................"Guess he has money, isn't that nice" I said.( with a slight amount of venom!)

They both looked @ me & said, "Quit while you are ahead" Mama"........................

That pretty much says it all...........................

My stepdad is the same way.  Thinks that in order to be somebody, or make an impression, is to have a lot of money.  His cousins & uncle are millionaires, so he always is bragging them, and their lifestyle, up.

I've seen how their lives are, it actually is ripe with strife, conflict and sadness.

I want no part of it.

Anyway, as a child (up until I was married even), it was the time spent that I remember and cherish the most.  Plus the gifts that had a lot of thought put into it.  Some children may not acknowledge it now, but they will carry precious things like you did forever. Smiley
