Sad day at our house...

...we had to put our cat to sleep.  We were all in tears, although it was the right thing to do, it was still a hard decision.

My son had to do the same thing about two weeks before Christmas.

Sorry for your loss.  Amazing how those critters lock onto our hearts, isn't it.

Yes, you did the right thing but somehow it doesn't help us feel better. I am so sorry for your loss. I'm with Tony though. There are lots of kittens int he humane society looking for a new home. That sweet little innocent face will help comfort you.

Dear Steph and family, I will soon be there with Kato at 15. All I can muster is that it's not right but life goes on. Too bad it had to be on the holidays.

Best to you all for your bereavement,

Oh Steph, my heart aches for you.  There is nothing so hard as saying goodbye to a furry family member.  I hope that time will help to ease the hurt.  I have no words of wisdom, I am still grieving over the loss of our pets;  Keep the happy memories alive and well, and know that your kitty will always be in your heart.

You have my sincerest sympathies and my wish for your family to find peace.

Love Cat

I'm very sorry for your loss - they do create such a big place in our hearts don't they?

Just a suggestion...probably ought to avoid seeing Marley & Me for a little while. We had to let our sweet yellow lab "Greta" go back in August and to be honest I almost had to get up and leave the theater for fear of openly sobbing.... The whole theater had a sudden case of the sniffles, but me, I was nearly a wreck...

Oh Steph I am so very sorry to hear this.....

Our family dog, Jake, is 15 and will soon be at that point as well, and we dread it each day.  My heart just breaks for you.  I know how wonderful the love of a cat is!!!

Don't read it right now, but when you are ready, the book "Dewey" is about a library cat in Spencer, Iowa.  As someone said avoid seeing "Marley and Me" right now (couldn't even finish the book because I lose my head when it comes to animals dying), and "Dewey" is a similar story that you're going to want to hold off on at the moment.  But in time, it might offer some comfort to you.

Hang in there.  We are here for all of you!!!

Love,
Carrie
