ambien sleep aid
Dec 27th, 2008 at 10:58am

I was wondering if anyone has had any success with the sleep aid ambien? I notice when my cluster cycle comes on it is very hard to fall asleep for a few days straight and my sleep pattern gets all mest up. I am new to this website and have been suffering from these headaches since I was 17, I am 28 now and worried that the traditional preventive medicine I take verapamil, lithium, and short  term treatment prednisone is going to stop working soon.

J,

I avoid sleeping pills like the plague because they make it too hard to wake up in time to hit the O2 successfully. You might want to try melatonin first before doing the sleeping pill deal, just my opinion…

Best to ya,

Roland. Wink

I have taken that, yes.  I did not find it was a good sleep aid at all.  It made no difference in my sleep problems.

I started taking melatonin a few years ago to help the clusters rather than as a sleep aid.....but I have found it to be a really terrific sleep aid.  I take it with benadryl on an empty stomach 45 mins before bed.

It helps the clusters nicely, and is also a remarkable sleep cocktail.  I get high quality sleep and pop out of bed in the morning with no problems.

Also, talk with your doc pronto about your preventative meds.  Discuss what is happening and you may end up adjusting the meds.

Good Luck,
B$

Only thing I'll add is lithium  has been working for many many many years! With luck it'll hold up for you as long! Wink
