We're not going anywhere. I won't venture forth on the roads on New Year's Eve if I can help it.

We'll stay at home, watch a couple of movies, and toast the New Year when it comes.

Besides--I'll be enjoying the dregs of the vile, messy cold I picked up a few days ago. I don't often catch colds. FYI, they are disgusting. I can't recommend them.

I for one am so ready for this suckass year to END. Bring on '09!

Linda, I love your tradition of burning leaves, etc. When our high winds die down, I'll bring that tradition to our home as well. Nice!

We'll probably just hang out at home (yes Bill, picking up wine before heading home LOL), eating leftover chili and goofing off till 12.

(hoping to jump online at about midnight to wish HNY)

May anything bad about '08 be a forgotten, good memories treasured, and many blessings to all in '09.

We'll be going to church for a New Years Eve service till about 9:30, then a dinner and 3 on 3 basketball tournament and a volleyball tournament until 12 (Or whenever they get tired enough to quit. For those of us who have realized belatedly that sports are for watching we'll also have board games, etc. for fellowship as long as we want to stay. I'll try to be off the roads well before midnite though. Had enough of amateur night when I was driving a limousine. Never again.

That really sounds good, Pegg. I might be tempted to cook something like that if I could taste it--what with the crud. Tongue

As it is, I'm going to make some beef stew. I hope it's okay, but the non-cooking types around here are just going to have to like it.

El told me today that she hates it when I'm sick, because she's afraid I won't make anything but gruel. I'm half-tempted to feed the kid gruel anyway, just for the sheer pleasure of it. Smiley

I think I'll try to find a 1950s SF movie to see. I want to pretend that the 21st century will be like we thought back then.
