Salvia divinorum or splendens??
Jan 3rd, 2009 at 5:26pm

Has anyone tried these herbs as an alternative to shrooms?  I am aware it has some hallucinogenic properties, but does it have the same effect as shrooms for CHs?  I'm unsuccessful in getting a hold of shrooms (no connections), but have salvia growing all over my garden (My lightbulb is going off...)  I've been unsuccessfully battling the beast for 22 years now... I'll try ANYTHING if it has any spark of hope.

Thanks,
Sheri

My family has asked about this, I too am wondering if it would help with clusters.

I just have never gotten around to posting and asking. I'm not sure what receptors it works on in the brain or what.

(I dislike hallousinating, so I'm NOT trying it out. But I would like to know if it would help.)

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

I agree.  I too am not looking for a trip, nor do I want to be the experimenter, but if it has similar properties as other hallucinogens, maybe there is something to it.  AND it is very easily accessible.

Remember, it may have a similar effect or similar properties, but that doesn't mean it has the same molecular structure.  I'll do some research, but I believe it is NOT an indole-ring molecule...

From wikipedia:

"Salvinorin A is a trans-neoclerodane diterpenoid, chemical formula C23H28O8.[4] Unlike other known opioid-receptor ligands, salvinorin A is not an alkaloid — it does not contain a basic nitrogen atom.[5] Salvinorin A has no actions at the 5-HT2A serotonin receptor, the principal molecular target responsible for the actions of 'classical' psychedelics such as LSD and mescaline."

there you go.  Sad
