I have no experience with medicare. I'm a kaiser guy and for years they wouldn't pay for it so I bought it myself. $4.25 a month for each E-tank I rented and $11.25 each time I had them filled. Well worth the money.

Hey Joe,

Medicare will cover oxygen therapy as an abortive for cluster headaches... BUT...  The prescription must be written properly or you'll be in for major delays and/or a possible refusal of coverage. The Rx for oxygen therapy should be written exactly as follows:

"Oxygen therapy with a non-rebreather mask as an abortive for cluster headache pain.  Administer at onset of attacks at a flow rate 12-15 liters per minute for up to 20 minutes per hour, up to 12 times per day.”

For details on why the prescription needs to be written this way, read my posts on the topic, "way to long" , on New CH.com Forum. To view it, you can click the link below:

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. If it's a beautiful fighter, your heart will be ever there
