02. When the Beatles first came to the U.S. In early 1964, we all watched them on The _______________ Show.

03 'Get your kicks, _____________ _____.'

04. 'The story you are about to see is true. The names have been changed to ___________________.'

05. 'In the jungle, the mighty jungle, ________________.'

06. After the Twist, The Mashed Potato, and the Watusi, we 'danced' under a stick that was lowered as low as we could go in a dance called the '_____________.'

07.. Nestle's makes the very best . . . . _______________.'

08. Satchmo was America 's 'Ambassador of Goodwill.' Our parents shared this great jazz trumpet player with us. His name was _________________.

09. What takes a licking and keeps on ticking? ____ ___________.

10. Red Skeleton's hobo character was named __________________ and Red always ended his television show by saying, 'Good Night, and '________ ________. '

11. Some Americans who protested the Vietnam War did so by burning their___________ ___.

12. The cute little car with the engine in the back and the trunk in the front was called the VW. What other names did it go by? ____________ & _______________.

13. In 1971, singer Don MacLean sang a song about, 'the day the music died.' This was a tribute to ___________________.

14. We can remember the first satellite placed into orbit. The Russians did it. It was called ___________________.

15. One of the big fads of the late 50's and 60's was a large plastic ring that we twirled around our waist. It was called the __ ______________.

ALL of them are waaaay too easy for this 55 year old  Sad

Although I was a young kid, to this day I vividly recall our family standing on our front lawn watching Sputnik go by.  I had no idea of the importance, but the adults sure thought it was important, so it stuck.

I knew them all.

43 almost 44 is "senior"?  OMG I might as well sew the old girl shut and fill the apartment with CATS.  Max might like that, but then again he seems to like being the only kitty getting petted in this house.

Don McLean's song was about a number of things: One was the plane crash that killed Richie Valenz, the Big Bopper, and Buddy Holly. The other was the Rolling Stones' free concert at the Altamont Speedway, where a black man wielding a gun and charging the stage was stabbed to death by the Hell's Angels who had been hired by the Stones for security.

The Angels were told that for free beer and $500, all they would have to do is sit on the front edge of the stage. When people started rushing the stage (which was built all too low to the ground), things got out of hand.

Mick Jagger stopped the concert and appealed for peace, and then they continued playing. The Angels were already pissed at the Stones because the Stones waited and waited until the crowd was in a near frenzy before they went on-stage. They were very very late, and by then, the mood had turned very surly, darkness had fallen, and things quickly went from bad to worse, culminating with the stabbing to death of a man who was rushing the stage to take a shot at Mick Jagger. This happened during the song, "Gimme' Shelter," and not during "Sympathy For The Devil," as is popularly claimed.

Edit: It's widely thought that with the deaths of Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin, and the murder at the Altamont Speedway, that the peace and love movement of the late sixties had sounded its death knell.

A likely story, young'n!

It reminds me of a poem:

In days of old,
When Knights were bold,
And safes were not invented;
They tied a sock,
Around thier cock,
And babies were prevented ... (sometimes)
