Awww....I luvluvluvluv kitties....but my man is terribly allergic.  Tongue  So I live vicariously through other people's cats.

Potter- you could use your kitty as a poster-pet for CH!  (At least, that's what it FEELS like!)  That's just so heartbreaking...I am amazed that it didn't crush his skull.

but, did y'all know that's why David Bowie looks like he has 2 different colored eyes?  His best friend punched him (with a ring on) as a youth in a fight over a girl, and one pupil's permanently dilated.

Paige, I'm terribly allergic to cats, I just love 'em enough.  I take zyrtec, I have steroid cream for the hives, we brush them constantly to help with the shedding, wipe 'em down every day, vacuum all the time. have pretty much all the furniture covered with throw blankets we wash all the time.....  lots of people who have cats and are allergic don't let 'em in the bedroom, but I can't do it.   Grin

Frank - your Winston looks JUST like a kitty we rescued and adopted out!  This pair of brothers turned up this summer:  we named them Billy and Bing (Bing is the grey one).

We couldn't stand seeing Billy alone as the weather got colder and wetter.... so he was our 7th.  We tried so hard to adopt them out together - but they were already over a year old and living outside, so that was just too difficult.  Hated to split them up.  But we live in an RV, so talking in both was just out of the question.

Here's Billy now:

Tom - your Buxton is GORGEOUS.

Potter - I just want to pick up your G.B. and kiss that crazy face!

George - we've got a soft spot for the tuxedo kitties.  Four of ours are black & white.  Smiley

MORE PICS PLEASE!

"Floppy" is good.   Grin

True.  They won't try to save you.  They might watch the progress of one's death as an interested observer.  Saving stuff just isn't what they do.  Then again, a hamster won't try to save you either.

"They kill babies" is an old canard.  I don't believe cats kill babies.  In truth, I don't think they care much for babies at all.  Babies do uncanny things, and they have grabby fingers.  Cats don't like anything that's weird and grabby.  That said, I've often been glad domestic cats aren't the size of a St. Bernard.   Wink

Best,

George

Winston was rescued from a barn. He was one of several, at the time. I found out later that all of his litter-mates had either been stomped to death by the horses, or ended up as coyote chow.  Undecided

Last summer, the neighbor's Boston terrier came trotting over into our yard. Winston leapt over a 3' chainlink fence and tore ass after that dog, growling in a way I've never heard him growl before. That terrier took off hellbent for leather with Winston hot on his heels. That dog has never come back, since.  Grin Grin

Thank you, Frank. Your Kiki is cute. That is what I call "Scratch my belly, daddy!!!" I simply adore my kitty and love cats in general.

Langa--it was not a Siamese cat that attacked you, it was a cat trying to tell you he/she wanted your love and attention and that he/she was in charge...  Smiley I brush Buxton frequently to keep the shedding down. No hairballs for my kitty. And I bought him his own blankie that sits next to my pillow so he has a place to sleep next to me when I have my month of custody. [Me and my ex share custody.]

Here is another of my little buddy, Buxton. [I can't resist]

And he surely was in charge.  He ha already attached one of my nieces and one time I was home alone and it's he did a Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hide.  Just jumped on me and sliced my hand between my pink and ring finger.  Then I ran to hide in the closet, where I stayed while he waited outside.  Three hours later my Mom showed up and rescued me.  We had to get rid of it.

I would love to have one of those weird cats with no hair - like Dr. Evil.
LOL

Barry, hope springs eternal.    Grin

Want to meet another one?

This is Flowerbelle (we named her Flowebelle Lee, after the Mae West character in My Little Chickadee, because she needed to be a strong woman to survive!).

When she was brought to the vet, he gave her a 30% chance of survival.  This is after two weeks at the hospital:

She IS adorable!  And has the cutest personality.  Those are old pics - she turned five this fall.  She's our teeny kitty.  I know there are smaller breeds, but they seem to run big out here.  Our first rescue (now 6) is 18 pounds - and he's not fat.  His brothers are 15 pounds (skinny - the first kitty I posted pics of, Shelly) and 13 pounds (solid).  Their sister is 11 pounds (lady like Smiley ).  The one we just rescued, Billy, is a comfortable 11 pounds.  Our handicapped kitty is a rotund 9 pounds (smaller frame).  Flowerbelle is just 6 pounds - and she eats like a maniac.   Grin
