He serves
I volley

Is this the secret dance?

Where and when.
Here and there.
Is there an ace to the hole?

Score even.
But no one has the upper hand.

It’s just the wait between the matches.
He serves.
I Volley.

A precocious dance between life and pain.

He serves.
I Volley.

Defense, always defense.
He serves I volley.

Always on my guard.
Pretending to stay a step ahead.

Where and when?
He serves I volley.

The never ending game.
It’s a sand trap.

Digging out…
I am my own Captain
My own Queen

If I don’t do this for myself, there is no one to do it for me.

He serves, I volley and I slam dunk the winning blow.

I AM stronger than this menace, this evil spirit that fails to haunt me now.

No matter his battery, I will win. I am ME, and I am STRONGER than he.
