DHE nasal spray?
Jan 15th, 2009 at 11:52am

So, as is becoming customary, my neuro inadvertently mentioned that DHE is available as a nasal spray and I wanted to see who/how many here have tried this route of administartion. DHE worked beautifully for me, but I HATED injecting myself with it daily, especially as it does not come in pre filled syringes.
What is utterly maddening to me is that the MD did not mention this method to me while prescribing me DHE that I injected into my thighs/arms last time. I mean who wouldn't prefer to inhale something vs inject themselves???!!!!!

O.K, rant over.

I used it prior to going into the hospital for an infusion a couple of yrs ago.

I found that it didnt abort yet it did seem to prevent.

always prefered to just use oxygen.
If an absolute emergency I would use zyprexa or a jab of imitrex

remember that you should never mix triptans and ergotomines

I can't believe that I have to bang my Head against this wall again. But the blows they have just a little more Space in-between them. Gonna take a breath and try again.

I have use Migranal and found that it would abort AND prevent cluster headaches for me for at least one day.  The main drawbacks for me were:  severe nasal congestion for almost a day, and it raised my blood pressure.  Your Milage May Vary (YMMV).

Wishing you well,

Ray

Edited to fix the spelling of the drug, duh!

I don't see any ergots in Migranol. Does the atropine work in a  simlar way to them? Am I missing something?

Thanks

oops, I searched for migranOL, not migranAL.
Thanks again

Migranal is a form of DHE.

Wishing you well,
