playing in freezing azz cold~updated
Jan 19th, 2009 at 4:37pm

I was out enjoying the sun and nice temps (it was in the mid 50's).  I went back to Restoration Park.  This park is actually built on the site of a gravel/sand pit that was mined out in the 1970s.  Then it became an illegal dump where people dumped all sorts of garbage.  The City of West Monroe started restoring the land and it opened to the public in 2003.  Since the dirt is sandy, they are still finding garbage as it washes to the surface.

These are all taken with the Canon XS10IS

Great shots, as usual Carolyn.  Thanks for sharing.

I'd love to have walked all along the wood pathway.  Looks very peaceful.

Nice work as usual from you!  You're really making that little camera sing for you.

Certainly makes me want to explore there - looks like you could spend several days finding new stuff.

Keep 'em coming.

Best,
Marc

Believe it or not, the path itself is only a mile long (convoluted, but none the less a mile).

Well, kinda sorta was peaceful, between the joggers, the kids with their parents and the people walking their dogs.

My favorite question of the day, "do you like to take pictures?" (mind you, I have two cameras slung around my neck).  I almost answered, "no, the cameras are just used for counterweights".

Thanks for the comments, I have a few more that somehow, I forgot to upload.

I noticed my shadow on this one earlier, need to go in and crop it out.  There *were* two people, a sign and a box birds nest in this photo that I took out.
