Came home amazed...and very different.

Jittery Jen here reporting Post-LouCon, from an upstairs office somewhere in the woods of Virginia.

First of all, I would like to thank each and every supporter there. You are, without exception, angels. It was TRULY AN HONOR to meet you.

So wow....... I kept thinking through the weekend, "How do they DO this? just getting on a plane and taking off and meeting people and just being themselves and loving and sharing and having fun and not worrying about every freaking thing???”

And then it hits me BAM!... we share our strengths and encourage each other every day here. We hold up the weak till they are strong and cheer them in their triumphs.  We let each other into our daily lives and come to love the person behind the typed words.

That encouragement and support and yeah, some hard-core persuading got my sorry ass on a plane to St. Louis, facing all kinds of scary-to-me shit. Once there, that strength of the collective group in St. Louis was like water - surrounding, enveloping, submerging, inundating, calming, and recharging.

Y’all didn't go back to your respective homes and lives. You ALL came here with me. And because of you and the example you are to all around you, today I take life by the horns and already started making some POSITIVE changes for my life now and in the future.  An old friend once told me (ok, he yelled at me!) that he’s never seen someone so paralyzed by fear and that I can build brick walls faster than anyone he’s ever known. Long overdue, but time for that to change.  Fixing some financial shit, standing my ground, and telling someone special that they ARE special are on the top of my list.

DJ and Steph, you ROCK!!!!   Smiley Thanks for all you do for all of us, and thanks for … yeah well…all dat and then some  LOL   That’s a DEFINITE again!!!

A very special thanks to Lizzie and Beyull for all that you did and for breaking one more link in my chains. Smiley Smiley

Done being sappy now Wink ,
Jen

Ok Girlie,

NOW you see the power in family.  It's not just about blood, about location, about geography.

Family is about life, and what sustains it, what feeds it's energy.  What helps it grow and nourishes it.

You and I are not so different.  My best friends and my best family...those who know and understand me best are...other clusterheads.

Jen, you have a wealth of support here as do any of us.

I know...if the need became so dire, that those who could, would help me as they have many others here.

You are only as weak as your fears, and as strong as those who have your back.

You are a bright and talented and ingenious woman.  You are Jen and you are beautiful.  I'm honored to call you my friend.

Jen,

I am so glad you were persuaded by whatever means it took.  I really enjoyed getting to meet you and to get acquainted a little bit.  Meeting another clusterhead is really life changing.  You leave a bit of your heart with them when you part, but you also take a bit of them along with you.  My first Davcon, though abreviated to just a couple of hours made such an impact on me I couldn't believe how much it changed my outlook.

Can't wait to see you at the next one.

Jerry

It was great to finally meet you, hang out, and let you whip my ass at pool. I'm glad you got to come and meet everybody, and took something special back with you. Everyone who attends a convention or meet & greet returns home different.

Oh, and thanks for the encouraging words too. You rock.  Kiss

Oh Sweetie, I hate it that you are frightened of and about things.  Being afraid is a terrible feeling.  I've never had enough sense to be scared of much  Tongue

Tell ya what....pretend you aren't scared of anything and, bingo,  pretty soon you won't be.... Smiley

Love ya,
Jackie

Amen sister. The next time I see you walking into the group, I want to see steady hands. You are so fun to be around. Take charge. You can do this because you are one tough cookie. Smiley
