A standard tailgate item (mandatory in these parts)

I take large shrimp (peeled) and stuff them with a small spear of jalapeño and wrap with half a slice of bacon.  This is all held together by putting them on a skewer, 5-6 to a skewer, grilled until the bacon looks done.  Thin-sliced bacon works best.

Always a hit.

I like a veggie pizza for get togethers...

woops!  here's one variation...

VEGGIE PIZZA

2 pkgs. crescent roll dough
2 (8 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dressing
2 c. shredded cheese
3 c. assorted chopped veggies
   (broccoli, cauliflower, olives,
   tomatoes,
mushrooms, etc.)

Spread crescent roll dough into a cookie sheet. Press up sides of cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 10-13 minutes. Cool completely.  Beat softened cream cheese, mayonnaise and Ranch dressing until smooth.  Spread over cooled dough.  Top with vegetables and cheese.  Pat down into cream cheese mixture.  Refrigerate at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.  Serves 10-12.  C/R

Here are a few for your perusal.

Chili Cheese pinwheels
1 package 8 oz cream cheese; softened
1 cup cheddar cheese; shredded
1 can 4 oz green chilies; drained
2 tablespoon picante sauce
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
2 tubes crescent rolls; 8 oz each

Beat cream cheese until soft.  Add cheddar, chilies, picante sauce, chili powder, garlic powder and onion salt.  Mix until well blended.  Separate each tube of rolls into four rectangles, pressing perforations to seal.
Spread about 1/4 cup cheese mixture over each rectangle.  Roll up (jelly roll style) starting with the short end.  Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least an hour.

Preheat oven to 350°F .  Cut each roll into 6-8 slices and place on ungreased cookie sheets.  Sprinkle with additional chili powder if desired. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Yield: 64 servings

#########################

Mexican Bean Dip
1 can Progresso black beans; drained
1 can Mexican corn (with peppers); drained
1  small red onion; chopped
3  green onions; chopped
2  tomatoes; chopped  and seeded
1 pkg Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup white vinegar
15-20 drops tabasco sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
2  avocados; chopped
1 bag Frito Scoops

Mix first five ingredients together in a bowl.  In another bowl, mix the dressing mix, oil, vinegar, tabasco sauce, and garlic salt.  Mix with ingredients in first bowl.  Chill.  Just before serving, chop avocado and mix into dip.  Serve with Frito Scoops.  Awesome!

#########################

Pat's dill dip

1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1 tablespoon dill weed
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

Mix all ingredients thoroughly to blend flavors.  Chill several hours before serving.  Makes 2 cups.
Serve with raw veggies, bread or crackers

Ya axed fir it agin:

Meatloaf: Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Chisel out enough room in the microwave for your thawed beefalo; the stuff in back of the freezer, not the package from 1998. Leave in plastic tray. Mix with Hamburger Helper, onion sticks, and Ketchup enhanced green tomato paste. Toss in some fake salt and Bacon Bits if you wanna go nuts.

Pound on the microwave key pad to set the timer and run for cover.

Head for the couch, pop in one of your Celebrity Poker videos and relax. When the smoke alarm goes off, it's done.

After you've satisfied your neighbors and the fire trucks have gone, take out the meatloaf. I usually find that it's a bit easier to separate the melted plastic from the meatloaf if you run it under cold water.

Poke around in the cupboard for an unprententious wine cooler, grab your Ron Popiel's electric knife, and off you go. Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Serves one...only once, so far.

another is hot crab dip in a sourdough bread bowl, or those little baby dill pickles with the cream cheese and ham wrapped around them.

God I'm hungry

The Pinwheels sound good.

I think I had the meatloaf before.  The plastic got stuck to my teeth.

Crab dip sounds good too.

Maybe we can make a CH Cookbook

Superbowl?

Huh .... I didn't realize it was that time of year again ....  Who is playing?  The Yankees vs the Bruins?

I am not too much of a fan of any sport not played in a bedroom ...
