(it's served over a bed of long grain brown rice )

I am having a "warm salad" (Saw on TODAY SHOW last week & looked yummie!)

Saute some red onions, red peppers, cooked bacon, spices, eg, salt & pepper, ginger, cumin, & a bit of oj

Roasted chunks of sweet potatoes, which were coated with olive oil, salt & pepper & garlic

A bed of Raw Spinach
Top with sauteed mixture, & then warm roasted sweet potatoes

A nice glass of Red wine, & some Garlic Naan!

Meg has rehersal for the school musical till after 9 pm. Thats awful late for a big meal. I think maybe Chicken Alfredo, maybe chicken noodle soup? I think it'll be soup, because that way it can heat up nice that late at night.

Well I made meatballs and then cooked them in a cranberry sauce and chili ketchup mess until they got all sticky and yummy and served them with mashed potatoes and peas.. It was a recipe I cut out of the newspaper there and it was gorgeous and soooo simple!

Jasper asked me what it was so I said Dog Poo Delight and no surprises, he ate the lot and loved it LOL It's a keeper!

Curry never bothered me. Which is good because I LOVE Indian food!!! Thai curry dishes are good too!!!

I can give up the booze no probs, but I don't know what I'd do if I had to give up my favourite food of all time (not that I'll be eating anything BUT salad for the next 5 weeks...).

I can't seem to find curry powder around here, only the paste. And all the recipies I've seen call for the combination of curry and coconut milk/cream.

The scent of Coconut is a trigger for me even with RC seeds. I bought a coconut/lime hand lotion a year or so back, and I can't be around it at all. Coconut scented shampoo does the same damn thing.

Not chanceing it. Any suggestions?

Curry in close quarters is nasty! Last year I was on a trip in Denver. We were there for a few days working at 2 sites so we stayed at one of those Marriott suites places. Wasn't a Residence Inn, more like studio apartments. Well the whole floor I was on smelled like curry. It was nasty. When I checked out the lady asked me how my stay was, and I told her it was a good trip but that I wouldn't stay there again because of the smell. It reeked into my room!!! She credited me one night's charges. Worked out well because Joe had joined me there for 1 extra night so I didn't have to pay out of pocket.

I started my day with an 8:00 dentist appt. getting a crown installed and another one started. (Note: DO NOT EAT ICE ANYMORE) so my mouth was sore. Then the snow started coming down and after getting to work 90 min. late I shortly found out we got to leave 3 hrs early!!! So I worked a grand total of 3 1/2 hrs. today. The kids were off anyways for a teacher inservice. I stopped at the store on my way home and got everything for a big pot of homemade beef veg. soup and added some homemade sweet potato biscuits that our local church was selling. Perfect dinner for a cold snowy day with a sore mouth!

Pegg I have literally loads and tons of curry recipes which do not use curry powder or paste and no coconut either. Just mixing your own spices - its what I do.

I'll get some out to you! I know I haven't done that chicken in cider thingy yet but I've not made it since and I need to write it down as I go LOL

Can give you my morrocan chicken recipe? Paul likes it and he's not dead yet!

I sometimes replace single cream with coconut cream in my curries, so there's no reason why you couldn't do the same the other way round.

I love recipe posts - can we have them posted here? The Arroz Con Pollo (which I think came from Chuck) has become a firm family favourite here - I cook it in my slow cooker now when I have lots of mouths to feed and it always goes down a storm.
