I'm not seeing it from my desk
Feb 5th, 2009 at 9:05pm

All of this economic strife. My company and I had record sales last year and this years totals so far indicates another record year if it keeps going at this pace.

I read a lot of things about how bad things are and sometimes I wonder if the press blows things WAY out of proportion and just adds to everyone's uneasiness by their biased reporting Undecided

I'm sure there are people suffering from this but I guess my point is this "I will keep chugging along and doing what I have to do" and NOT LISTEN TO THE BIASED PRESS ANYMORE" and come to my own conclusions.

Right now, I can't find any help. Seems no one wants to work. I guess I just don't get it Undecided

We'll chat tomorrow,

Jimmers

And do you need a seasoned sales professional who can work from a home office and cover the Central WI territory?

You're very lucky to be in such a situation. Unfortunately the present situation is what it is, and what it is - is pretty crappy. So, while I would not succumb to operating on a daily basis as if in a fall-out shelter, using the squirrel's approach to life is a very good idea at this time. (And that does not include darting in front of cars)

Continued good luck.

Dude, Jesse is the most awesome worker ever, but you can't have him!  LOL

I'm very happy for you though. Smiley  (not about not finding good workers tho, that sucks)

Dude, there are good problems and bad problems. They're both problems in that they need to be solved.

You, sir, have a good problem. Consider yourself fortunate.

Pegg,

We have a branch in Merrill, I don't think that they require the kind of skills you have, but believe me when I tell you that I have been checking things out for you around here Wink I'll keep looking.

Jimmers--I am happy for you and I hope that you soar in 2009! But as much as I believe the media blows things out of proportion--they aren't even close to getting it right on how bad it is. Real Estate in New York City has been going crazy over the last 7  years. Today it is so bad that IF you have the money there are bargains galore. On the first weekend in January 11 Broadway shows closed due to record low ticket sales. Restaurants are shuttering because they're losing too much money and can't pay the leases. Traffic in New York was always horrible during the Christmas season. This year it was in and out without a delay. Mayor Bloomberg is talking about incredible layoffs. The charity programs are near closure because they have little to no donations. Big Ticket item stores are pretty much extinct. My wife and I have always saved conservatively--but our savings and retirement nest egg is down 63% over a year and a half ago. About the only place that is crowded now is my Catholic Church because now everyone has a prayer.
